H10 Tips and Tricks/Identifying your H10 Model

From iriver Wiki, your source for everything iriver - a part of MisticRiver.

The H10 comes in a multitude of different models, and from the outside, they all appear the same. There is one easy way to tell which version you have, and here it is:

The Models

MTP (5/6/20Gb)

The MTP H10 is the most common H10 in America and is more integrated into Windows XP. It comes with Windows Media Player 10 on the CD. This model does not show up as a drive in My Computer, but a "Portable Meda Device" below.

UMS (5/6Gb)

The UMS H10 (Which comes in both 5 and 6Gb versions) is the non-US model. If your player came with a CD containing iriver Plus, then your model is definitely UMS, and cannot sync directly with Windows Media Player. This version shows up as a normal removeble drive (With it's own letter) in My Computer.
