Description

Rockbox is a community developed Open Source firmware replacement for several DAPs including the iRiver H100 Series, H300 Series and H10.

Features

Rockbox plans to retain as many stock firmware features as possible, while at the same time introducing new features and improving existing ones. These include:

  • Custom WPS (While Playing Screen)
  • True gapless playback
  • Games, including Rockboy, a Gameboy emulator
  • On the fly playlist creation
  • Increased audio codec support including several lossless codecs
  • Last.fm scrobbling to log, which then is uploaded to Last.fm by the user via a computer program or web based script Rockbox .scrobbler.log to Last.fm Upload. Logs of the H100 have no timestamp and are named .scrobbler-timeless.log - these files are handled by the web based script and the computer script by faking the play times of the referenced files

A full feature comparison can be seen on the Feature Comparision page of the Rockbox wiki.

  • WikiManual An online version of the Rockbox manual, which contains information about installing and using Rockbox. Unlike the current RockboxManual (see below) which was written for the Archos and describes the Archos button assignments, the WikiManual includes information on the proper buttons for using Rockbox on iriver.
  • Rockbox Installation Guide Step-by-step instructions for installing Rockbox on your iriver.
  • QuickStart Instructions This page is for instructions on how to get running with Rockbox quickly. It contains basic information on installing and using Rockbox. It is not as thorough or as detailed as the WikiManual or the ManualRockboxInstall pages.
  • Rockbox button assignments Charts showing the button assignments for Rockbox on all supported players, including iriver. If you do use the hardcopy of the Rockbox Manual, these charts will help you convert the buttons referenced in the manual to the iriver player.
  • WPS customization This page shows you how to customize the Rockbox WPS (While Playing Screen).
  • WPS Gallery If you don't want to take the time to create your own WPS, this page contains a gallery of WPS screens created by other Rockbox users.
