Connectors

From iriver Wiki, your source for everything iriver - a part of MisticRiver.

iriver takes different plugs for different generations of MP3 players.

While earlier models used standard USB plugs, the HDD players had plugs with 18 pins, while the flash players U10 and Clix from the U Series offer 24 pins with 0.5 mm pitch. The exception is the U Series' newest member Clix2, which has a standard Mini-USB plug, with 5 pins.

VBUS may be within the range 4.75–5.25 V. See Wikipedia -> USB for Details

The U Series models U10 and clix have a non-standard USB plug with an extra pin between 1 and 2, connected with a blue wire. Probably this is an extra power pin which permits charging with up to 2 A, while USB is limited to 0.5 A.

HDD connectors: 18 pins

H10 started with a unique 18 pin connector - see H10_Hardware_Data#Connector_Pinout

The U series offered a new connector which includes e.g. an interface to the cradle's functions:

+ Line-In (L/R)
+ Line-Out (L/R)
+ Remote control
+ "snooze" button
- no fm antenna: radio is not available within the cradle. The earphone cable is used as antenna usually and is blocked within the cradle.

AFT-200 is an accessoire from iriveramerica. This Audio Frequency Transmitter converts the audio signals from U10 or clix to a low power fm transmission which can be received within a short reach by any fm receiver. The AFT-200 is a modified version of the AFT-100, including charging capabilities. The AFT-100 offers a normal 3.5 mm stereo plug instead for universal application. The unknown signals on pins 13, 14 and 16 are connected together. They could be line-out left, right and audio ground. The Ground pin 2 is connected twice, with blue and purple wires.

Plugs can be obtained from Walta Electronic Co. Ltd, Taiwan (A11-577-2401) or via Cypress Industries. The same plug is used in some cell phones, such as Samsung. iGo offers a charge adaptor (iTip A82).

A slightly different plug is used in LG phones, which also fits into the socket (e.g. iTip A06). It's probably the same EXT connector as used for the GP2X, an open source handheld game console from Game Park Holdings, South Korea. Be aware, that although this plug may fit in physically, it may damage your player. Try to figure out the pinning before you trust this info here:
