I have the h320(it was 1.02US and now 1.25K). I have the same streaking problems (no visible video and streaked photo thumbnails). I have no idea where my warranty papers are. X_X Is there anything else I can do? was it a good idea to get the new firmware in the first place?
or am I screwed? |

I have spent hours reading these threads to see if what my H320 is doing, is normal. I have vertical lines obscuring the middle third of the screen. These come and go during video playback. Can see rest of image OK and sound seems fine.
Thought it was encoding but seen to have successfully encoded using both iriverter and Pocket Divx (but with the breaking up on the screen). Firmware 1.29K but the same on 1.29E. Cannot downlod the example pictures so do not know if this looks the same. |

hi, this may be a diff prob or non at all (i hope)---on my 340 (no rockbox) 1.29K, i see a green or yellow steak across the top 2mm or so of screen for the duration of the film (very annoying & distracting). is this just because mayb the films are in widescreen format. ive noticed a bill hicks video (which fills the WHOLE screen) doesnt. could this just be a widescreen issue. just want some confirmation.......a nd someone to tell me it'll all be ok
ta.

So, after browsing the forum for any solutions, I haven't seens any solutions, besides sending my iriver back for a replacement to fix the video problems. Unfortunately, my warrenty expired about half a year ago. Before I totally give up on this situation, I want to hear some ideas.
I bought an iRiver H320 at the end of the 2004 year US. After updating the firmware to the korean version, I had no problems with video for about a year or so. Then, suddenly, I'm not sure when, now and then, when I would be playing a movie, it would streak for about 1 to 2 seconds about once every 10 minutes. However, at first, it was only annoying. As the problem progressed, the streaking became worse and worse, appearing for 10 seconds on minute intervals until reaching, finally, total streaking. The ways I tried to fix the problem were that I re-encoded my movies using both virtual dub and iriverter. Both gave the same streaking that I saw before. Then, I tried defragmenting, thinking that the time difference caused by fragmented files would have caused the streaking. I even tried reformatting the H320, using both the in-player format function and the format function in Windows. Neither seems to have any effect on the streaking. I was wondering if I just lost all my video capabilities on my H320, which would disappoint me greatly. Just for the know, my serial number is 13110204111xxxx. Sorry for that long history I made you read and thanks A LOT before hand for all of your tips and advice as to Is there anything I can do now to fix video streaking? Oh, I forgot to mention I tried out all of the korean firmware versions from 1.27K on to 1.29K I also have the streaking problem with US H320, 1.29K firmware, serial number 13110204111xxxx Last edited by musichound : July 6th, 2006 at 08:18 AM. Jzmddf15314, there is no need to create another thread about this. This simply clutters up the forum.

Same problem as original poster
Serial No: 132253041001xxx
Firmware 1.31K and have also tried 1.29J and 1.29K and 1.29E Even with the sample movie, nothing but horizontal lines. Maybe 3 or 4 lines in the centre are recognizable as something...very frustrating!!! |

Video streaking problem
I have just managed to successfully repair a H320 with this problem.
There are no faulty parts. Just reaseat that ribbon cable from the LCD on the motherboard connector. I guess that during production they just didn't properly connect that cable onto the motherboard connector. I do run a small repair shop for H100 & H300 and also sell refurbished players and some spare parts too. You can drop me a line under: snapper@bluewin.ch |
