Sorry, I should have say that before : the "official" PocketDivXEncoder website is at http://divx.ppccool.com .
There, you will have the latest build of PocketDivXEncoder in the bottom of the download section. Bye ! By the way andrewmel, sorry I didn't understand what you are asking for... ![]() |

like if the audio is 15 units long audio: --------------- video: ---------- and the video is 10 units, it squeezes the audio so its 10 units audio: ---------- video: ---------- so instead, i use the option where i do skew correction, so its more like this: audio: -|-------------- |---------- where the video starts at the |, and everything before the | isn't used, and there are left over audio at the end but i'm not quite sure if thats correct, anyone correct me and explain exactly what it is? |

i have the same out of sync problem. its not terrible, but still remains after using the option on PDE.
its a minor grievance, and if someone could fix it i would be a happy camper. ps - this happens mostly when doing large files, like a .vob from a dvd. most of my smaller TV episodes are fine. |

to get it synced properly just encode it in pde , then use the correct visual\audio synchro or what ever button. when your playing it on the iRiver skip forwared once, then skip back (but make sure it doesnt go all the way back to 0 seconds.. ).. itll be very close, if not perfect, its quite watchable.

This program doesn't work for me because the output file is about 50 times larger than the input file when I'm pretty sure it should be a lot smaller since it is such a smaller screen. I'm using mpeg's that were converted from VOB's. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

i like it a lot....first off have fun fast forwarding through a 2 hour movie. it will take you forever. breaking it into 30 minute clips makes it a much simpler process.
just make a folder titled after the movie and put all of the files in that folder. it is definately the most effective way |

pde is working good for me except the sync is still a little bit off but not to bad
the one thing that boths me is that the sound kind of skips every few seconds, will lowering the audio quality fix this? anyways great prog and very easy to use |

I love this prog - it is seriously the easiest way to encode dvd. thanks again wildenab.
I do have a couple of suggestions that would make it the only choice for me. 1. I have happily encoded several series to the h3xx avi standard and they play great. My problem is that I cant chose where to put the split. i have used virtual dub to split the files, as suggested above, but the picture quality really degrades with the second encoding process. It would be great if PDE would let you chose where to split and save all of the hassle. alternately is there anything else that will just split the file and save each segment without re-encoding. Does virtual dub do this somewhere and I am missing it?? 2. I tried to view my newly created avi's using the button at the bottom of PDE, but nothing happened. has anyone else got this to work??

PDE 1.1 works fine on my H340EU w/ 1.25k. So far only one vid with audio non-synch, all others synch fine, quality fine.
I no longer use vdub for h340 processing, as I had quality probs with apx 1/2 of files (synch, frame skip, freeze). Vdub is great though for capture from TV and VCR (via any old tv card). tv capture guide at doom9 is good to go. |

WOW, this is much easier, i got the new pde with all the numbers preset for the h300, and it was much faster.
BUT!!!although it works perfectly, the picture is kinda messed up. the picture is ok, but it has like green blobs everywhere. what to do? |

For Damos : OK, I will add the ability to choose wether or not to split the video and where to put the split... By the way, VirtualDub can do that perfectly without reencoding : just set Video-->DirectStreamCopy then Audio-->DirectStreamCopy and you will be able to split your file without any recompression !
For jon62690 : I don't know what happens. Does this problem occur with every video you try to reencode ? Bye ! --- BuibuiLiveCD - Test your LiveCD without burning it Last edited by Wildelnab : September 25th, 2007 at 03:07 PM. |

how to encode divx movies
I've been looking all over the forums on how to encode divx movies to the h320. Can somebody please write me a simple step by step guide on how to encode widescreen divx (avi) files (around 700mb each) for the h300 series, either using pocketdivx encoder or virtualdub? Thanks.
