Oh well if you are saving the DVD you need to do it on a writable drive like c:\ or you iriver. You were trying to save it to the DVD.
cbscbs, which OS are you using? You might have some trouble with OSX because I have not had access to a mac to test on. I just came back to school as my winter break just ended so now I have access to macs in the computer lab so I can fix the OSX version. If you are using Windows, did you install it with the installer? If not did you keep all of the files together? If you are Linux or otherwise, did you install mplayer 1.0pre6 at all? Let me know.

Well not that I don't think your installation method wouldn't work (you didn't need to download iriverter.jar, its in the zip), but give the installer a shot.

edit...ok i used .06 and converted a comedy central video i downloaded and it works great! Now, I still haven't figured out how to take movies straight off the DVD. Like i said, family guy is my main goal. Is this the program to rip directly off the dvd or do i need a different program for that?
Anyway, it was very fast compared to pocket divx! Last edited by Triisomy21 : January 30th, 2005 at 12:44 PM. |

Triisomy I think your asking your question wrong. You want iReverter to split the DVD into episodes...as far as I know you can't do that. When you use the DVD mode it will rip the whole DVD to H3XX ready so and will also split the video every 60 min (maybe 90?).

Thanks for the help. I found a program that will allow me to take individual episodes off the DVD, whoo hoo! So I do that and then use the iriverter to convert it to be able to play on the h300. Works great

I love the simplicity of the program, but I'm having problems with it. I'm running XP and used the Windows installer, and using an H320 with the 1.27k firmware.
I just tried converting a stand-up act twice, but had no luck at all, using options of both 350kbps and 450kbps video encoding, and the default 128kbps and H300 selected. The video played fine on my computer, but I got an invalid file error when I tried to run it on the 320. It tried to play it, but it ended up giving an error in the end and skipping to the next file. I then tried converting with PDE, albeit at around 300kbps instead, which worked without problem, other than it taking significantly longer than yours. I'm going to start playing around with other files and settings, but am I missing something here? I believe the max video bitrate is around 500 and audio 128, but is there anything else that would impact compatability or conversion? EDIT: Just got a short WMV file to convert perfectly with the same settings as before (450, 12 Last edited by tenth : January 30th, 2005 at 04:28 PM. |

I finally got access to a mac today so I was able to fix the problems with the OSX version. Sorry it took so long.
tenth, what type of file did you try to convert that didn't work?

For those of you trying to get the individual episodes off your TV DVDs, i.e. Futurama or Family Guy, This is for you:
All you have to do is Put the DVD in your drive, click on the DVD tab, click on get languages, then in the upper right hand corner where it says Title, change this number to the corresponding number of whichever ep you want. For example, if you want episode two of Futurama Season one, type the number 2. Disclaimer: I talk about this as if it is concrete, but I have only tested this with futurama, but i would imagine that the set-up will be the same whether it is Family Guy or whatever. I know MSV has converted his Family guy collection, so maybe he could let you know how this works. Danno |

If you just use iRiverter to select the certain episodes (as i stated two posts above) you can elliminate the need for another program all together. If for some reason the number you type in doesn't correspond to the correct video file, it is easy to tell because the conversion time will be signicantly shorter than the 16 minutes it takes to convert a 22 minute show.
Now, i don't see a downside to doing it in one step, but if there is, let me know. |

you can just call it "To Live And Die In Dixie" and it will automatically add the ".avi"

I found a possible bug. When I drag a file onto the converter, It locks up.
I know it doesn't support Drag and drop like that, but I don't think the freezing is normal. Sorry if this has already been mentioned. Great program. Thanks so much! |
