The options in audio stream are
1.en
3.es
4.en
does that sound even remotely like what you are talking about?

Yes, that sounds like it. It looks like there are 2 options for English; one is probably DTS or something like that. It is probably defaulting to the first one. Try selecting the other one (number 4). If that doesn't work, try selecting the first one, just to be sure.

I just got a clix but it needs avi videos all i have are wmv videos

after i select what video i want converted i'll go to jobs and hit convert but it will just pop up the complete screen without doing anything to the wmv video it just leaves it the same and i think i followed the instructions on the iriver website like 50 times and still it's always the same

has this happened to anyone else and how did you fix it please help

Thanks that did it when I selected number 4.en it did the audio of the movie being narrated. So I tried number 1.en and it worked fine.

Just converted a mpeg and it worked fine, but the avi didn't have any sound...anyone got any idea how to fix?

When i tried to play a video file onto my iriver (after converting it through iriverter), my player said "not support, skipping". any ideas what the cause of this is? i had tried firmwares 1.27, 1.28 and 1.29.

I really can't make work iriverter on linux Ubuntu.
there is a library problem, I don't have the my computer right now and will post that error soon.
I never managed to make work iriverter on linux since version 0.8 :/

this is a common problem that many people have different solutions for, but when I try them they don't seem to work.

However the very first file I converted works fine (it was an mpeg video), but I've tried all sorts of files after that and nothing seems to work

Hey

I have a H340 which i have been using for about a year now..
I used to convert videos in iriverter 0.14 on my old Windows PC..
now though when i convert videos it kinda lags as well as it comes all black and white..
Now i use a Mac and i d/led Iriverter Mac OS X 0.16 version yet it doesn't work at all.. Everything comes up but it only gets up to the "Converting" or "Gathering Information" then just stays there for half an hour lol..

some help would be greatful

I tried using iriverter 0.16, but the only thing I got was was the Complete dialog, no progress dialog, and no output file. I love my iRiver player, but I expected the software to work better.

I'm having the same problem with iriverter 0.16. No progress dialog and no output file, just a false "complete." I had seen a post that said many people could not work the software because of the compatibility settings, but after I changed them, it still did not work. Please help!

First I'd like to say...look around.

Now, to answer your question, yes, there is a free video converter. iRiverter is a freeware video converter. This whole forum is dedicated to it and all issues dealing with it. The first page of this forum has a link to where you can download it. There are also other links on iriveramerica.com and on here, misticriver.net.

To play video files on your U10, you must convert the file with iRiverter (if you can get it to work), plug your U10 into your computer, access it from "My Computer" and directly apply the file into the "Video" folder. Good luck. Especially seeing as I and a few others have been having problems with iriverter 0.16 and there is no sign of help from the advanced users.

I used iRiverter before for my H320, without any issues. Worked fine.

Im sure that when I first used it, there was a great guide in the 'How To' section. If I can find the source, I will post it here.

Hi there.
We got aa Meizu M6 for review purposes, and we are attempting to get it work using iRiverter.

the problem is, we can't get iRiverter to work under OS X.
Trying to copy from a DVD hangs (see above post) and we need to kill mplayer in the activity monitor to even get the disc to stop spinning and eject.

As for regular conversion of video files, I can select any output profile (ipod for example) and my progress bar never updates, and nothing seems to happen.

I just get the "converting 1 of 1" box.

I can select "close" but that is it.

I have tried a couple different quicktimes as source, and it is always the same.

I found an M6 profile for iRiverter here

but that still hangs.
Does this work for anyone on OSX? (10.4.8, latest Java etc.)?

Rightnow I can convert videos for it using Popcorn and tweaking settings, but I would like a better way.

Hey static void, is there a way to make iriverter convert to mpeg2(m2v) files? Rockbox video only supports m2v and it would be really nice if u could make it an option

I signed up just to let you guys know that if you change the output of the video to save it in a different location with a different name, it will actually convert it. Its a miracle...... dang software >_<

I cannot seem to convert a mp.4 video using iriverter on my Macbook!
It goes fine until I hit "Convert", and then the "Converting 1 of 1" box turns up. It says that it is converting but there is no progress.
Can anyone offer some advice?

I got a problem:
I want to convert a small XVID video file with iriverter to watch it on my H320. iriverter converts it, but the new AVI file has at least 120fps. The original one has only 12.
What´s wrong?
