Can you expand, so we can help you out better...

First of all, is/was you player US, if so...
-Were you connecting it via the "media port" (the grey one in the middle) when you transferred the file?
-Are you trying to connect it via the "media port" now you've done the upgrade and saying it won't detect?

Secondly, were you meaning to say you were loading an international firmware onto your player, because that's what you need to play video? Also, the root folder is the top level of the drive; it isn't a folder, just the drive itself.

does anyone have a elite method to converting WMV to AVI?
I find the task a bit tedious. Because wmv conversion is very slow
on my system. And if I do it with iriverter, most of the time the
clip will play in blackwhite and there is huge delay, like 2-3 fps.
So I found that by converting the wmv in jodix ipod converter
then I was able to use the output file in iriverter and it worked.
Theres got to be a simpler way....... no?

I got a problem with Iriverter. It just dosn't load up. I double click on the icon and wait but the program dosn't load up. I have tried both the zip install and the installer. I have also restarted the comp. Can anyone help? I have java so I don't think that is the problem.

Windows XP

Edit: When I set it to run in the 640 x 480 screen resolution the monitor goes black for a sec then goes back to my desktop. I guess it is trying to load up but fails or something. I redled java both jre and sdk, also net framework 1.1. Still dosn't come up. Eh, Guess I will have to do it the old way.

Is there anyting else out there even comparable to the iriverter for sheer ease of use? A few clicks, type the file name and let it run....

How do I check my firmware and what firmware do I need to play videos on my H320. I downloaded the PocketDivX Encoder and used it to convert the file to *.avi. Is there anything else I need to do before I can play the video ? Right now when I try to play it, I don't see the file on my H320.

I just wanted to say thanks for this great software MrStaticVoid!
It works fine for me. I had a little sync problem after upgrading to firmware 1.29 E but I solved it by rewinding the video a little bit.
Now I love my iRiver even more!

If you're talking about file limits, yes, there is a limit on the size/length of a video. It tends to vary depending on a combination of filesize and play length, but 1 hour has been found to be a nice generalization.

As for the battery, a fully charged H300 should play 2-3 hours of video. However, there has been a rash of people lately complaining that their batteries have started going bad, after about a year of use. You might want to search the forums for postings on battery replacement.

hey folks, marvellous program, i love it! I've had the program aaaages, still got version 1.1(the powers that be (ie mum!!!) don't like me installing programs so i haven't upgraded...) and it's been great but i'm having problems with one DVD. It all *appears* to convert fine, it plays on the MPlayer on the PC fine but i get the 'Not Supported' error when i try to play it on my iRiver H320. It also appears to have only converted about half the file (according to the time thing on main screen anyway-it says 30 minutes long instead of an hour) even though it said it had finished converting the whole file. It's the right audio quality, settings etc and has worked fine for ages but it doesn't like this DVD. I upgraded to the 1.29 E firmware recently and i haven't tried to convert any other new videos since i got that version till now. Could that be it?

PLEASE HELP ME!!!

by the way, i just tried converting another file (it was actually an mpg but i don't think it would make much difference whatever the file type) to check if iriverter was working at all and it's fine. So it's just that DVD. And i've tried three times with no success. ??????

(PLEAAAAASE HELP ME! )

Sorry I can't help you on the first one, apart from just check you haven't accidentally changed any settings. But as for the thing about it only being 30 minutes, the iriver can only cope with something like 45min segments of video at a time, so iriverter automatically cuts it down into playable chunks when the "automatically split" function is on.

Its probably nothing to do with it, but it might be worth updating anyway; can't you just do it when "the mother" is out the room ? She won't notice its changed from 0.11 to 0.15 !

Hey, I'm a proud H340 owner but my friend has an Ipoo, wasn't Static making a build that would support MP4 encoding for Ipoos?

According to the documentation on the iriverter site, the current version supports the ipoo video.

FAQ's and the Search function really help with this. To get you started, here is a FAQ how to encode video for the H300. If you need help on how to play video, the Search will find many threads with the answer.
