I'm having a problem with ireverter. I am trying to copy a DVD and when I select the dvd function it checks all the titles or chapters and will show the chapters in the chapters function but when I hit the convert button the pop up comes up and says it's gathering info from the dvd but it never does anything. That pop up stays up indefinately but never shows anything in the status bar. The dvd drive light stays on for a minute then goes off and that's it. I let it run for hours and nothing. No error, no movement in the status bar and no conversion. I deleted my old ireverter and d/l ed the newest one, I reinstalled the x-vid codec, I tried it on other computers, I even tried to convert a dvd I had already converted succesfully but no dice. Any help would be appreciated. J

I gave up on iriverter for a while because of this problem and tried exploring other options to get content on my portable player, but after resolving this, I am very glad to be back. iriverter is a really great piece of software - easy to use but lots of functionality. Great design and implementation! Question for Mr. Static Void - You developed with Java and SWT, right? How did you get the EXE wrapper around Java? Is the code all pure Java or, as someone mentioned, does it also use the .NET framework? |

I've searched this thread, but there seems to be nothing about my problem:
With Version 0.14 under Windows XP, mencoder keeps crashing. I haven't yet encoded a single file. I was going to try different versions of mencoder, but found out I couldn't tell how to tell iriverter which mencoder.exe to choose. At one time, I had the files C:\Program Files\mplayer-newest\mencoder.exe and C:\Program Files\mplayer-dev\mencoder.exe and still iriverter neither encountered problems finding an mencoder.exe, neither did it tell me which one it picked. Is there a way to avoid these mencoder-crashes? flostre PS: Since this thread has 1100+ replies, wouldn't it be appropriate to make some new folders in the forum like "iriverter windows problems", "iriverter mac problems", "iriverter praise", "iriverter suggestions/feature requests"?

Hi,
I've been using iRiverter to convert vids for my ZVM and I've got a question. I've created a profile for my player by copying the pmp.profile and changing a few things. The question I have is about the line: dimensions=320x240 512x384 640x480 and how it works within the program itself. Under options > Video Size >, I can tick all three video sizes (instead of the norm in most other programs where I'd just be able to select 1 option). Does having all 3 ticked mean the program will detect the original video dimensions and encode it accordingly? Take for example if I have 2 videos in a directory, A (320x240) and B (512x384). Regardless of the way I select the videos to be converted (either by selecting the directory or by selecting 2 single files), if I have both the video sizes ticked (320x240 and 512x384), would iRiverter be able to output video A and B to their respective sizes? Let's say I only tick (512x384), am I right to assume that both video A and B would be resized to the ticked video size and likewise if I were to only tick (320x240) or (640x480)? Thanks!

I've just recently bought a PMP 120 and have all my music working fine on it. I've used iriverter to convert my video files (i've used it for avi, wmv and rmbv files) but while the picture comes up perfectly clear, the sound is scratchy and distorted. Almost exactly like the sound from a dodgy NES emulator.
The machine is fantastic but it's disappointing not being able to play video's on it . Any help would be greatly appreciated |

I'm having quite a bit of problems getting this to work on my H320; details follow:
1.29k firmware (converted from 1.04US) Themed for the blood theme Iriverter v0.15 And a small music video of about 50MB I've converted the video with the specs listed in the IRiverter helpfile, and that turns out excellent. The problem is when I store it on the H320 and then go find it... it doesn't even show anything there. I made a couple folders in the process "videos/CoF/musicvideo here" Nothing I try seems to work right Please help if you can |

I never knew there was one... I only had the info on the US version
That works Although.. I think the audio may be a little too fast for the video.. I dunno for sure.. is there something to check this and fix it? I know this is a bit off-topic but it seems the only place to get an answer I know for a fact the H320 plays .m3u playlists... but I can never get to them so I can use them... They are sitting in the root dir and in the the music folder Last edited by Megami : February 15th, 2006 at 11:20 AM. |

I got my iRiver H340 a few days ago, and I'm trying to get movies on it. I downloaded iRiverter and put all the info in, but it seems to be taking forever... Is this normal?
At the bottom of the conversion window, it says: Converting at 14 FPS with about 195 minutes remaining. 0.o That's just over 3 hrs! Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Depending on your PC it will take a varying amount of time, basically you computer has to pain each individual frame of the film each time. bit by bit It is intense on the PC. Also running other things will add to the time taken, most swear by just doing it overnight. PCs of about 3 years will do it in the time you suggest newer ones can do a DVD in anything up to 45 minutes. Also it depends on the length of the film as to how long it takes. My PC isnt amazing but can do all the films I have thrown at it in under an hour. It basically comes down to raw processing power.

Thanks again. |

No problem, then the age of the PC sounds about right for the time it says it will take.
The only real thing that will make it faster is a better processor so I doubt that will have been done. |
