Can you batch encode avi's ?
MrStaticVoid
KILLER app man. One questions: Is there anyway to schedule batch encodes with your app, or run a command line version that could allow scheduling? I would love to be able to automatically rip files based on a source folder. THis would allow me to rip my TV shows whilst I am sleeping and have them ready to watch for the journey to work the next day. Any ideas? Thanks again for all your time invested into this. Im a total Newby and you have made life much more enjoyable for me already m |

Simply use the directory option. This allows you to batch convert any number of files. Also you can rip a DVD single file and directory by simply using the Jobs/new option to select the tasks to do.

Astec123,
I dont just want to be able to batch convert, I would like to be able to automate conversions on a nightly basis using schedules (no human interaction required). I realise there is a batch option, Im more interested in a schedule option, or the ability to automate conversions on a daily basis Any other ideas? |

as for iriverter simply put a dvd in drive start iriverter look at options and make sure iriver h300 is selected. you can set bitrates for audio and video but most people tend to have around 300 for video and 128? for audio. oh and select normalise sound as otherwise it may record a little quiet simply select where you want to save it and click convert, really couldnt be any easier, such a simple to use app |

Playing AVI Files
Hi there, Im a newby in the IRiver scene, and I was just wondering if I still need to use IRiverter to convert AVI files before transferring them on to my River, I have the H340, and although the avi files were recognised on my Dap, I couldnt play any of them, it just kept saying "cant play skip", if that makes any sense, any help with this would be appreciated. I have already updated the firmware to the latest version on Iriver.com

Profile for U10
Hi guys,
hereŽs the profile for the U10. Checked it, works fine. Just create a file called u10.profile in the profile folder of your installation and paste these lines into it: device=U10 maxVideoBitrate=384 maxAudioBitrate=128 dimensions=320x240 maxFrameRate=15 IŽll contact MSV separately and see if he will incorporate it in the next release. I'm having some slight problems with iRiverter. I read and searched through this thread and others but couldn't find an answer. Maybe I overlooked something, with 55 pages it's very possible...
ANyway my problem is that when I re-encode movies, they always some out in 320x240 no matter what setting I have it on. I would prefer 640x480 so it looks good on a big TV. So instead of iRiverter (which would be #1 if the settings worked) I tried PocketDivXEncoder but then the Audio/Video sync is off... I might just end up coompromising something here unless there is a solution. Oh yes... and while I'm here, when I use iRiverter to rip a DVD the video is always fine but the sound is only static. And I followed the directions properly, I'm pretty sure. Maybe I'm doing something wrong that somebody else has done as well and has a solution to. Anyway... enough complaining, because overall the program is great, and has definately been helpful. Just so I don't come off as an ungreatful bastard |

Last night i spent near 2 hours sifting through this thread looking for a solution to my problem. The problem was that converted .WMV files were ending up greyscale and running at about 0.3 fps.
I was running ver 1.25 of the firmware on my h340 and version .14 of iRiverter. The solution i found after reading a helpful post ( i appologise for forgetting the posters name ) was to remove version .14 of iRiverter and instead run .13r1. At first i had an issue as i downloaded version .13 which ended up giving me an entirely new issue, i did manage to track down version .13r1 ( i am not aware of any links to hosts of older versions of iRiverter ) on sourceforge by going to the .14 download screen and editing the filename in the url. I just needed to change the 14.exe to 13r1.exe and this gave me the d/l page for the version i needed. Since running 13r1 i have had no issues with wmv files or any other format. They have all converted fine, and there are no greyscale / poor fps issues. |

Does anyone know of any sites where you can download converted movies that are ready to go for a H340? As in someone has converted a movie using iRiverter and put it onto their site for others to download.
Seeing as I don't have a DVD drive it would save me the trouble of downloading a movie then converting it, which would take a long time. Thanks |

Sound issues, "hopping"
I am still having problems with the audio using Iriverter. It kind of "hops" ahead a second, every few minutes/or minute, I haven't timed it. This is different than the lip synch problem. It is noticeable with music on a movie but less noticeable with dialogue.
Is this the way it is? Or is it possible to get more perfect sound? |
