Your leaving already?

Good to hear you've opted for the H300 though, great player IMO.

Enjoy!

video fike size question

Hi all,
I just received my H320 and in just a week I have already loaded my complete music library to it, a few pics, 1.28k firmware, downloaded latest irivium and iriverter software and iskinned and inskinned it WHOOO HOOO !!!!! what a great little machine. Now I am ready to convert my Rocky Horror DVD to it. my question is will the whole video FIT in the machine and at what rates should I convert ? Thanks to everyone who reads this since you have all contributed to my understanding of just how great a machine this is.

It will fit depending on how much space you have left. 322kbps for video and 128kbps are the recommended bitrates for vids.

iriverter

I just got my iriver and have just began putting songs on it. I do not know much about computers so forgive me if I sound dumb. Iriverter seems to work fine when I convert the files and when I drag the movie into my h320 it seems to work fine. But then when I look on my h320, the video is not there.

What firmware do you have? You need 1.20 or higher to play vids.

The firmware is like the "OS" of the player. It lets you do everything. When you turn your player on, the first thing it says will be the firmware version.

Beware that you will lose your DRM support by upgrading, so if you buy music from online stores, you won't be able to play them.

To upgrade you unzip the file, run the executable (if there is one) copy it to the root folder of your H300, and go to Settings > General > Upgrade Fimware > Yes.

hey Slim. try fastforwarding or rewinding for a little bit. that should fix the audio sync

how come when i do the manual split for a video the quality of the video becomes noticably poorer? the video becomes very choppy and the frames seem even slower than usual.

You need to either do it again, or you can re-encode the videos delaying the video by a set length.

iRiverter makes it easy to delay the audio or video when you encode your videos. I'd give it a try.

Error: too many roots

Hey guys Void, love you work mate, I was at a birthday party having a few too many beverages and overheard some guy showing off how his iriver was playing video, i updated last night and bingo! I cant believe I havent known about this for so long. iriverter is the goods, looks like ive stumbled straight on to the best.

I am however have a problem, i used the windows installer of version .11, i simply double clicked the installer and started converting. It worked for a few episodes of scrubs, south park and futurama. Then it would start converting a file shortley after starting (it would come up with x frames per sec and tell me how long) it would come up with a window: too many roots, the title bit of the window had something about cg in there as well. It would then shut down iriverter and ask if i wanted to send an error report to windows. I uninstalled iriverter then reinstalled and it started working again, it works for a few then i had to reinstall it again. Has anyone else had this? ive searched the forums and couldnt find anything.

cheers

p.s. i am using xp, any other info you want from it?
