I seem to recall a limitation of 100Mb for video files, is this correct or have I gotten my wires crossed with the ~1 hour limitation? If so, I'll crank up the bitrate (although the average ~45min show at ~220Kbps to get a 100Mb file is perfectly ok).
To my knowledge, there has not been any demonstrative difference shown in video between 1.27k and 1.27e (there was believed to be a difference in 1.25, I think, but no one has reported it being in 1.27). There is no definitive answer concerning playing length/filesize. Some people have gotten videos around 2 hours to play, others can't get 1 hour to play; some have played files larger than 100mb, some haven't. Most likely, the limit is a combination of size and length. Best place to start is: audio bitrate, 128; video bitrate, 250-350; length, 1 hour or less.

Enjoy!
I love GCJ!

0.11 works quite well; it loads my DVDs, and it's currently converting. still to see if it converted correctly; but looks good as of now.

EDIT: Works well. a bit of a sync problem, but playing around with bitrate can fix that.

Question

when I use the iriverter 0.05,I can convert any video(no matter what form it is)in my computer, but when I use the iriverter 0.08,0.09,0.10,0.11, they all can not convert most of my video(the iriverters all stoped work at the begining of the convert process-"gathering information about the input video"),only very a few video they can convert...
Please tell me why???
0.05 is much better than the latters???I think it should be something wrong with my windows XP or some software...

Question question

i'm using iriverter 0.10 set at 322kbs video and 128kbs sound, cause that seems to be what most people set there bit rate at (i could be wrong...recomendatio ns?) it seems to play well on my h320, but its a little choppy and the sound seems to be a little off too.

does everyone have the samething happening, or what am i doing wrong? ill download 0.11 later today though, maybe it will help. good progam though, i love it!

I believe you need sound in it to watch it correctly. There are ways of fixing a video w/o sound.

For Windows XP just download the .exe or .zip file and run them.

As for putting blank sound into videos, I've never done it myself but I've heard of others putting it in with Virtualdub and/or other programs.

hey guys im very new to linux, ive been going through getting programs from windows to work here and i had the same trouble as the other linux guys who posted a long list of errors
what you have to do is type these commands into bash (the shell) one line at a time.

PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_08/bin
export PATH
export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_08
iriverter-0.11]$ java -Djava.library.path=. -jar iriverter.jar

if u have java installed somewhere other than /usr/java then just put that instead.

but to save typing that in anytime does anyone know if i can get it to do that automatically? i know it says stuff in the docs about making an autolauncher but im really new and it says tell ur GUI launcher to use the shell script and i dont know how

Wow... just spent a couple of hours fiddling around with Virtual Dub, then tried this. Did it perfectly. Much simpler, and much faster conversion rates.

Good work!

ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrr

How the **** can i changed the output resolution on a movie?
the movie is The.Machinist, it's in xvid/.avi format and for some reason, iriviter INSISTS on outputting at 640*272. that is EXACTLY the same as the source file. It didn't do this with The Family Guy episode, it converted that fine.

I'm using XP and 0.11 iriviter. I tried using some 'extras' option, but i had no idea what i was doing, and, the "Video Size" option was not available.

PLEASE can someone help me???? :/

(and yes, i've tried just about EVERY bitrate/audio kbs possibilites, still with the same stupid results, of it keeping the original size)

I have the 0.10, but you can loof if the device option has the H300 series marked:

Options-Device-H300series; maybe you have the PMP series marked.

MrStaticVoid,

Hearty congrats on an excellent piece of software. Thankgod for you.

One query however, I seem to experience a 1 sec delay between the video an the sound sometimes. Any thoughts on the cause, or possible solution? Its only a minor quibble really. Well done to you sir.

Kind regards,

B

no, definately have the H300 series marked.
like i said, two or three things work, but it seems that it's not a huge fan of movies in an .avi format already, tv eps and little shiznitz like those, it has no probs with....so now, i'm gonna have to do em manually, which just sucks the ass

There, I found that link, from another thread on misticiriver, it's fantastic for a walkthru on the movies *I* couldn't get to work with iriveter, sorry if you think this is off topic.

Personally it's a PITA, but at least no I gots my shizzle working, takes about 2hrs for whole process, versus, next to no time with ireveter, so fear not, I'll not be turning my back on MSV's FANTASTIC program and work ethic
