.08 should give better a/v synching esp. from dvds. I tried it and it seem to have a significant improvement . I must say once again GJ! Mr. StaticVoid.

MSV,

I just encoded three dvds with the test release. At least one of these suffered from bad syncing when originally encoded. I encoded all of them into chapters and as a whole.

Tomorrow I will watch them and let you know how it turned out. Hopefully I see the improvement that BlaqReaper described above.

camaro, the file in the link IS the jar. But don't worry, I have gotten good reports through email and PM so I will package 0.08 up officially as I have with releases in the past.

Just put a DVD on using iriverter - The Usual Suspects - and it works like a dream.

Thanks for all you hard work, Mr.StatcVoid!

Any ideas when the full version of 0.08 will be out??

aigoo...do you have an older version of the program..or the exe? if so
go to (if u used the exe)
c:/program files/iriverter
and copy the files:
mplayer (folder)
Mplayer.exe
mencoder.exe

create a folder on your desktop labeled "iriverter test" or somthing like that..then put those three files in it plus this file in the folder
http://iriverter.sourceforge.net/iriverter.jar
and once everything is in...double check for the four files

mplayer (folder)
Mplayer.exe
mencoder.exe
iriverter.jar

then double click the .jar file and iriverter should pop up...go to about to double check that it's 0.08

there ya go

FYI, the program is better at A/V syncing...still not perfect (although it is at some points and not at others) very nice though...

Thanks, actually, I just replaced the iriverter .jar file in the original folder...maybe I shouldn't have, but it wouldn'tve run otherwise, because Winrar would open it. I'll let you know if the DVD drive works, because usually it just freezes. T.T

Okay...so it doesn't work. But since it's Java, mebbe it takes time ot load? Should I just let it run for a while? Maybe it's the DVD I'm using. I'm ripping Monsters, Inc.

What would be good is if Iriverter could make files full screen for the PMP, but without cutting off the edges. Crop sides to fill screen is ok, but on widescreen files you can lose quite a lot of the edges.

Media Player Classic for windows is a perfect player for making the movie fit the screen and if a similar element could be added to Iriverter that would be great.

MrStaticVoid,
Can you confirm that you got this working on Mac OSX at your school lab? I've downloaded the latest version and still no joy for me. Thanks.

I would also like to hear from anyone else using OSX.

TIA

Thanks, Mr. StaticVoid, for a very useful and easy to use program!

Working from VOB files ripped with DVDDecrypter, I have encountered the following problem, however. When I queued up four VOB files in iRiverter, number one worked fine, but when number two was 99% complete, a Windows error message popped up, saying "mencoder.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close". I then restarted iRiverter, queueing numbers three and four, and had no problem. Several attempts to redo number two had the same error message, but when I tried the resulting AVI file in my international H320 (1.27K), it worked, despite the hang!

Any idea what is happening?

0.8 beta test results:

i converted a family guy episode using 0.7, and the same episode using 0.8.

0.8 was synched MUCH better than 0.7. the 0.7 file was pretty much un-watchable, while the 0.8 file was near perfectly synched.

nice work, MSV.

thanks.

I would shake your goddman hand if I could Mr. StaticVoid. Unlike with V Dub I got my video working on my first try using the iRiverter. I just finished adding Shaun of the Dead and it looks great. Thanks a ton.

MrStaticVoid i noticed that you have to have all the chapters selected without it making each chapter a seperate file? Is there a way you can change it so that the chapters you select will come out as a single file? (i mostly want this to cut out the credits of my movies, especially with episodes of Simpsons where all the credits and stuff just wastes more memory.) Thanks again for this program.
