MrStaticVoid,
Thanks again for your hard work on this. It's really helped a lot of us out by simplifying the conversion process. Hope you feel better soon. By the way, seeing your avatar gives me a pretty good idea of what you would say in reply to my question here: http://www.misticriver.net/boards/sh...ad.php?t=12046 ... Gentoo |

Do you need to rip the DVDs first, or can you go straight from disc?
because there are so many files to choose from when i place Family Guy Season 2 Disc 1 in.
Which one do i select??

If anyone is looking for a way to pick the right DVD title, I use WMP10 to play the DVD, and I just use the menu to navigate the DVD. When I get to the video I want to convert, I glance at the playlist bar and note which title it is. Just type that number into iriverter and you are set to go.

hmm, it seems the converter has a problem with video files that have their audio encoded at vbr. i'm getting "video not supported, skipping" messages when i try to play the converted vids on my h320.

MrStaticVoid,
I have some picture quality issues with my iriverter rips that appear both on the iRiver and on Windows Media Player. The top and bottom of the screen - and if it's in widescreen, the top and bottom of the bar that is the actual movie - sometimes have faint white lines across them or cause the top and bottom of the image to be smudged or blockily pixelated. While this may be a mencoder issue, I would appreciate if you could look into it. If you want an example movie, email me at (my user name)@gmail.com and I'll send you one.

This could be an answer to what DtLr2610 and possibly the mexican were describing.
Today, after having successfully used iriverter at home, I attempted to install it on my work pc, which runs XP as well. Before I installed it, I remembered I needed java so I went to www.java.com and downloaded something without really thinking about it and installed it and ran iriverter and it worked. However, I tried to run it again later and it had stopped working. I would click on it and I'd get an hourglass and then nothing would happen. I backsearched this thread a bit and realized that I needed to download java at this location (http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html). After downloading and installing that version and uninstalling whatever other java thing I had downloaded, it worked fine. So my recommendation to people who are having trouble with the program not doing anything when you click on it, is to make sure you have this correct version of java. |

I must say this is an absolutely wonderful program. Easy to use, and perfect results.
One question, however. When I convert a video it is split into more than one file. Do I have the option to instead just make one continuous file? |

Just to say a big thank you, I've used it to convert a load of dvd's onto my iRiver with no problems.
I'm sure there are other apps out there that do this, but would it be possible to have an option to just extract the DVD soundtrack. I've got a load of comedy dvd's that I'd like to listen to in the car/at work without the distraction of the video playing aswell Thank you again |

Man, you are a magician. This must be the most straight forward piece of
software I have used in 25 years. I remember reading about a way to reward you for this program. Can anybody give me a hint where I can find information on how to support this man. Thanks Kramer |
