Question Do You Use Any Features Of The REP in Darky's Build?
I ask this because including the REP (Recording Enhancements Pack) greatly increases the complexity of the build and makes a whole lot of extra work for me when I do not even record on my iriver. Please only vote if you use my build.

I don't use the features of the REP.

Also it makes it weird when you want to charge the DAP from your PC:

- hold down REC. Recording starts.
- Connect to PC. Charging starts.
- press STOP to stop recording.

That isn't actually a REP problem, it is present in the Official Rockbox build also.

No. I don't use any features of the REP. I never use my H340 to record.

What exactly is the REP? I use recording quite a lot, but I'm not sure what the enhancement pack is.

I'm not sure what the 'enhancements' are in the REP. But when I record, I don't think I used enhanced features of the REP.

i'm confused as well. i record a lot. mp3 96-192kbs, stereo/mono... i dont know if this has anything to do with REP.

And that is more or less the reason I installed Rockbox; the better recording options compared to the stock firmware

I do because I need split by filesize and stop recording after spitting but the histogram stuff and trigger and all that is all rubbish to me but I suppose its all in the one package so theres not much I can do about it.

i get lost without the record button config,

this custom sized histogram and custom font stuff i could possibly live without

but i record on my H340 to wav/wavpack

I use it, and it work normal for me..I don't really know what I could do with triger option, because whent I am trying to use it I should reset my payer. But as quik recording, and splitting files in size and ability to schoose format and bitrate is very useful. I do not do much recordings, but when I need it I do it easy and I am so glad that quality is good!I don't care about histogram, because when I record I don't look in to my player

Oh, then I use the 'split by filesize' feature. The histogram I could do without, and the triggers are confusingly useless to me, as I am not sure of their use.

But hey, if it's all there to be used, and I use part of it, I don't mind having the rest so it's easier to put into the build.

i don't use it often, but when i do use it, it is a lot better.

since i don't use it that much though, i wouldn't be sad to see it go though, especially since darky has been so generous already with his builds.

Looking at the numbers, I think it's safe to say you should consider moving on with newer builds without including the REP. And like someone said in your build's thread, anybody who needs it can keep one of the older builds.

Z-Saber, I think just Darky should make a decision on his own. If he keeps working with REP It would be fantastic. If he decides leave it I understand him (it cause time) and I still him respect for his great work..
P.S. I hope that Darky finds some time to make me and other hepier with REP

Even though I use recording with Rockbox regularly, I do not really use the REP features. So to me it wouldn't make a difference, including them or not.
