hiii please help me
hiii
i just need to know something i update my rockbox and now everything change i just need to know how can i do it when the lcd turn off and i pressed on something i want that the lcd did not turn the lcd on i mean when i pressed volume i didn't need the lcd you know or when i pressed next song i want that the lcd still stay off please help me... i know that before i update the roxkbox it worked i mean ..i did it... (sorry abut my English) |

thanks a lot this was really quick
but... i want it will still work i mean if i pressed on navi i will see again the screen but if i just pressed on volume it's not turn on... i still need to see what i am doing you know if i will set the bac-light to off i will not see anything... and thanks again |

Ah, ok. I'm not sure whether you can discriminate about which buttons cause the backlight to come on. I have mine set to First Keypress Enables Backlight Only, so that the light comes on when I press something but doesn't perform the action.
If you have a copy of the old .rockbox directory, just replace the current one with that.

but i want to press something and the lcd will not turn on
but if i press on navi for example it will be on ; i still need to see sometimes so i can't set the back-light off i know for sure that in the rockbox that i had i can did that like in the ipod.... |

You'll need to change the backlight back to the value you want it to stay on for before it switches off (in the same spot as you switched it off). Sorry, I misinterpreted your first post

i am sorry abut my English
its just that in the last rockbox that i had i play music and when i press the next button it's not turn on the lcd unless i press on the navi , it was a option to do that and it's seems to be there are can't do it in the new rocbox |

General settings > display > LCD Settings > Keypress effects when backlight is off
set to the last option (Navi: BL, A-B & Rec: Action & BL, others: Action BL stands for back light, so pressing navi will only turn the display on, a-b and rec will turn the display on and perform the action, all other buttons will just perform their action without turning the display on |
