I've switched back to Norb's "rb-np-multi-070323-1" which was his previous multi build. No probs with this one at all. I'll probably continue to use this build until the new one has all the kinks rolled out of it. Thanks alejandro for all your hard work. I just put this on my h300 for the first time a few days ago, and all I can say is wow! I built a wps/theme for my X5L about a year ago so I can understand the tediousness of it all (I can't begin to fathom the amount of time this has required of you). So many choices. So again, thanks for your fabulous designs and keep up the hard work.

BTW: do you happen to have the original inskin .psd file for apple coconut. I love the design, but would really like to remove the "band" on the back and make a couple little changes. PM me if you would like. Thanks

Give me a day or two to e-mail it (the psd file) to you. I backed it up somewhere, so I just have to find out what disc.

I also will have a picture of the band instruments WITHOUT the players, which I think makes more sense when no album art is present (well, to me at least).
thats why ur the creator/visionary and not me, I LOVE THAT IDEA. I think u deserve an award or something, or at least have rockbox.org put it on their site (which they do put wps's on there)

I think this is because the fonts I use for the wps are not unicode, thus foreign "letters" can't be displayed.

Frankly, I hadn't even thought of this until you brought it up.

Hmmm, if someone were to provide me with a list/link to rockbox unicode fonts that I could use, I could write an optional wps code for unifont support. however, these would have to be of different sizes so as to maintain the "look" of the wps as true to the original concept as possible.

Right now, I will be busy doing the noalbumart files, so for the moment I can't help you out. i'm sorry. however, once I am done with that, I will look into the unifont issue and see if there is something I can do.

You know, I was actually thinking about Unicode support for this a couple days ago. I don't think I (currently) have a single song with any Unicode characters in it, but it would still be cool to have support for it.

EDIT: Just redid my WPS with an old norbu build and the fixed Screaming Oranges shtuff. Works fine, but there was an issue with the backdrop being a solid violet color. The theme file was looking for bckdrp.bmp while supplied backdrop was named bckdrp2.bmp. Simply renaming it allowed it to work.

Oooh, I forgot to change that in the main colors folder, but I did it in all the "xtra" one. Changed and reuploaded. Sorry about that!

I did redownload it. I completely trashed the old files and downloaded the new stuff.

Yeah, but I forgot to change the bckdrp name to bckdrp2 in the main default theme file, but for some reason did it for all the ones in the "xtra" folder. Go figure. Either way I fixed it and it is good to go, so you can re-download it. Sorry about that.

I've been trying to figure out what is wrong with my wps and the new build.

I WILL get this! (I already changed the clock to the new method, but nothing loads up at all. I'm getting a headache trying to see what is wrong)

Well, good luck with that. I'd like to help, but I have no idea what the problem is and my WPS knowledge is extremely limited.

Just passing by real quick to let you guys know that I won't stop providing support for this theme. I am currently working on the "no album art" pics, albeit slowly. I also will look into the code parser issue with the recent builds.

However, I have been going through some rough times (personal stuff), so I just ask that you guys bear with me some weeks.

Thanks.

No rush at all, man. Don't feel so obligated to appease the masses. We're all very appreciative of your work thus far and even if you completely gave up on this, what you've provided to this community is far and above what anyone could have ever dreamed of.

And don't sweat the complications with the newer builds. You're not the only one having issues, and we can just fall back on the old builds if we really want this WPS. I know I did.

Sorry to hear about your problems though. Whatever it is, I hope everything works out for the best.

Take your time.

Alright guys, this past month has been one heck of a rough time for me, but the worst is over. One of those periods when life just plain sucks, you know? Anyway, glad to be back and itching to get some stuff done around here.

Here is my list of to-do things:
1) Finish all no-album art images in their different color schemes.
2) Upload Photoshop files of all the inskins to give you guys FULL customization options (these include choosing font colors from the basic 16-color-palette I use as well as the option to include/leave out things when printing -such as the band in the back of the inskin, I know not everyone wants them there)
3) Find unicode fonts for multi-language display support while keeping the "look" as intact as possible (I really hope I find some good-size fonts)
4) Test out the new builds with my WPS and figure out what's wrong.

Today I will work on the no-album art images. This project is still much alive, people!

And man, I can't wait for Fourth of July. It's been three years since I have not gone to see a fireworks show! Wooo!

Here is a thumbnail of the four different available designs for the "no album art" picture that will display when there is no album art available. It's really two designs, but I thought it'd be cool to make a black & white version of each, since the lack of color hints more at the absence of album art, or something like that. I just thought it was cool, ok? Haha! Anyway, this is what they look like:

Each will be set on top of every foreground (smooth and tropical/paradise) so that it blends with the foreground of your particular screen, but you can choose a different color to make it stand out even more, of course. Totally your choosing. What I mean by this is that you are currently seeing them set against a white background, but that will be changed to blend with each screen's color so that it flows flawlessly. I tried doing one universal transparent set, but once again, the drop shadow doesn't work well with Rockbox's transparency color, so I decided to do it the way I described. Additionally, each of the four designs will also be available in different colored rings (in each of the 15 colors of my palette) as seen here:

I will upload these in packs as I finish them. Any thoughts?

I am thinking of doing inskins without the band players, just the instruments, as pictured above. Would any of you guys use that? You know, no "screaming oranges" words or anything, just the instruments (a suggestion for those who don't like the "cartoony" look of the inskins). I can work on those later on if enough people are interested...

Interested, but not sure if I would seriously use it or not. I'd wait for more votes for the concept before you go diving into another lengthy project.

Actually, it wouldn't be another lengthy project. It'd just be an extra layer I'd slap on the photoshop files I'm planning to upload (the #2 in my to-do list). I certainly wouldn't go making completed inskins of each like I did before. That'd be too much work all over again. Or who knows, if I am bored maybe I would just so that those who don't have photoshop can have something...

AHAHAHAHA! I'm going insane here.

Anyway, uploading of the first batch of the "noalbumart" pics begins tonight.

Packs 01-02 of the no album art pics have been uploaded, check out post #11. To use it simply choose one file and throw it inside the same folder as the rest of the buttons you chose for your wps. If you don't want anything to be displayed, simply don't bother putting the "noalbumart" bitmap file with the rest of the buttons. Nothing will show because there is nothing to load.
