Ah yes... you are right. I misunderstood your previous post. I thought you had errors while compiling a simulator and not when trying to use mpegplayer in the sim.

ATTENTION!!!
It seems that linuxstb made a change before commiting his work into CVS that affects coldfire targets. As a result with a current CVS build you'll get white noise instead of sound when playing videos. Unfortunately for us, he doesn't actually own an H300 or an iAudio X5 so he couldn't know about this. He is aware of this problem now and currently trying to fix it. For the impatient and until linuxstb finds what the problem is, I patched the cvs source before the mpeg commit (31-12-06) with the patch linuxstb gave me for testing. I also patched mirak's optimisation patch and created a build. Here, I attach a zip file containing the mpegplayer.rock that you need to replace in "/.rockbox/viewers/" and a rockbox-vid.iriver file that you need to place in the root. When you want to watch a video now you have to: 1) select the rockbox-vid.iriver file. This will make rockbox reboot into 31-12's patched firmware I made 2) select the video you want to play Notice that this is actually a test version of mpegplayer. In other words you can't access the menu while playing videos (you can acces the menu once before the video starts buffering) and you can't exit (stop) the video unless you reset. Sound should work fine with this one though. h300 proper video with sound.zip EDIT: Nevermind, it seems that the problem has been found now 2 Jan 13:36 - Dave Chapman "Fix audio for Coldfire targets - the EMAC was being initialised in the main thread, not the audio thread. Also fix some comments and kill the video thread if the audio thread can not be created." |
