Concerning Battery Time.

Hey all. My iRiver was giving out about 8 - 10 hours of battery use after a year of owning it, from a full charge. I decided, after a lot of reading, precautions and worrying, to install ROCKbox on my H320.
It was great, no problems.

For about a week.

Things started going weird. Color scheme was out of whack, the menus would freeze and drag, and buttons would react very slow. Battey life decreased to about 3 hours. Once, the color got so bad that it wouldn't work, and I could only navigate through songs by memory of my folder placements. It came back after being fully charged, but that was the straw that broke the camel's back. I removed ROCKbox from my player, and assumed that everything would be okay again.

To be blunt, it wasn't.

Everything else worked okay, but the battery life was still cut down to a low 3 hour lifespan. I've removed every trace, file and any possible recollection of ROCKbox, but it won't come back. I, living in Australia, do not want to purchase another battery from overseas just because of a damn bootloader.

Is there anything I can do?

heya
fellow qld mistic here and my theory is that it was coincidence which has jumped up to bit you on the arse .....twas about a year after i first got my H320 when the battery started losing its charge and only got continually worse thereafter , i havent tried rockbox as yet (about to which is how i came upon your post) but i dont think theres many problems with it , have you checked the forums at rockbox for similar issues and fixes etc as most people seem to love it .....anyhoo you dont have to replace the battery by ordering overseas .....you just need to make sure youre getting the right ipod replacement battery ....and you can get from jaycar or online from minidigital.com.au in perth
