I now just use CVS builds. I pretty much let my halfway build die. I might ressurect it, but not likely.
Occasionally I'll compile one for myself with a few patches, but yea, clean CVS is my personal favourite.

I used the Kosh build for ages, then recently tried the norbu build, but after a few crashes i decided to just use the official build. That's been on for about a week now with just the standard rockbox wps.

I've also used the Kosh build forever, actually since it was started. Recently, it has started falling apart, though. After various clean installs and random crashes, I have reverted back to an old build. It seems like the norbu build is the way to go; I'l have to try it

I use a build I did for myself back in July '06 which included a number of patches that I wanted (based on one of Norbusan's older builds). Most of those patches (recording enhancement pack, H300 LCD remote support, etc.) are now in CVS, so I guess I should update. However, there's one patch I really like which I don't think is in CVS. It's the "favorites in NAVI" patch. I don't think the patch is now compatible with CVS as I tried doing another build using this patch a couple of months ago and it failed. Having said that, my old build gives me everything that I need, it never crashes and always works, but I will get around to updating to a later CVS build (hopefully including the "favorites in NAVI" patch if I can get it working with the latest CVS builds).

I use my own build just because I don't need most of the patches in all the "experimental" builds. But there are some patches I like which are not included in the "experimantal" bubilds.

the favorite plugin was removed from cvc because there is now a new feature called "playlist catalog".
maybe you safe your build and simply try out a recent daily ...playlist catalog is a very usefull and capable feature

btt:
i for myself use the multibuild from norbu

Funny to be telling a mod this, but based on what forum this is in, isn't this survey just for H300 builds?

Used to use Norbusan's build but now just use SVN/Official builds despite missing some features. They tend to be more stable and I always find experimental builds slower.

DD's halfway build... still holding in there and hoping for an update (though I just cracked, and installed the latest daily to see what I was missing... if I prefer the daily, I may end up having another go at compling my own)

I'm currently using norbusan's multi-font build because the WPS I was using required it, but now that I've changed my WPS I might try a couple of the others and see what the differences are.

you will not get as much stuff, most other builds have less patches but this in turn makes them a little more stable, but as I also use norbs muti build and have no issues I guess there is not much to make stable.

the official build is one you should try Jenny, as new menus and changes have been made that are not in the any but the last muti build.

Kezza

PS: still having some small probs with the PHP stuff you were helping me with Jenny

Thanks for the info, Kezza.

Sorry, I haven't had a chance to look at the PHP stuff for a while. I'm not sure how much more help I could be, but I can try What are the problems you're having?
