And even if Rockbox does support USBOTG in the future, you will still have to make that cable. People seem to think Rockbox will magically make their H300 be able to play 30fps video and have high-speed USB2-OTG; it's only a replacement firmware.

And if you have a US player (hardware-wise, not necessarily software), Rockbox isn't going to change needing to make your own cable to supply power to your USB accessories. There's a bunch of threads in the H300 subforums about that issue.

You could also solder the power to the plug from inside the player, but you need to be confident in your solder skills. Then simply get the $3.00 USB host cable for the PMP series at iRiver's site. Then you don't need all these crazy external power giving things, very clean and streamline.

Hehee! I feel so smug having an international player. The US version really has been screwed around by iriver too much. Just take the frankly rubbish US firmware; yes it does do DRM which is helpful for those with subscription services, but who wants to encourage DRM otherwise?

i know this probably isn't the way to ask this, but i'm a noobie so take it easy........
ok, i got a question that i can't find discussed anywhere. i've got the international h340. usbotg worked great before i rockboxed. now i tried to use otg recently with the 1.29k and i get nothin'. so i dumped rb and put clean 1.29k on and still nothing. how do i reactivate otg? is it permanently switched off when rb is installed? can somebody help!!?
