If i put a daily build in my h320 will it delete all my plugins that i put on that are not in the file. also where do I put a new bootloader and where can i find the bootloader v5

Unless your plugins have the same name as the ones in the new build, they will remain.

Well version 3 is your bootloader version and has nothing to do with the build you have on the player.


You have to
1. Download a fresh iRiver firmware file from www.iriver.com.
2. Open FWpatcher and point it to the file you just downloaded
3. Assuming it tells you the patch was successful, copy the file you downloaded (which should have almost doubled in size) to the root of your player.
4. Open the iRiver FW on your player
5. Go to options, general, update firmware.

now rockbox wont even load... the bootloader comes up and in that screen at the bottom where it sais result it sais -1. wtf is the problem. i put on the daily build with the patched firmware. then i updated it and loaded it and i get that message on the bootloader screen

find the link, "1.29k" save to desktop
open with winzip (free program, google it)
open the program then click firmware upgrade
move the new file to your desktop

find the link "firmware patcher" from the above website
save to desktop and open it
click browse and find H300.hex on your desktop then click patch

move h300.hex onto your player and boot iriver firmware (on button +record button)
hold navi, push navi, go down to firmware upgrade click and say yes



now go to
ROCKbox H300 Experimental - Announcement Only Thread (No Discussion!)

click on the "download Rockbox h300 optimised" link, save, open with winzip
put the contents on your player

Warning- there is a volume bug that will blast it at full volume so be careful





all you have to do to update rockbox is follow that second link and follow the rest of the instructions

OMFG! Not flaring or anything but how many times do we have to tell you!?

-Patch the firmware with the latest fwpatcher (link to fwpatcher.exe in an earlier post) and flash your iriver with it as you would usually perform a firmware upgrade!


EDIT: That's a total of 5 explanations, 2 of which (from Membrillo and txdude3013) have been very good and concise "guides". Not forgetting the link txdude3013 gave to the Rockbox installation guide page.

In response to your question, there are now several multi-coloured WPSs. They can be found in the WPS section of the "Rockbox for the h300".
