Eli, the spin animation is very impressive, but what I reckon would look cooler is if all the segments of the spin animation are always visible but coloured, say, red? Then it does the same blue spin around a red circle?
Do you understand? I think that would look pretty funky

Besides that I think what would look real cool is if the spinner would stop when the music is paused. Otherwise, this is a very fine and unique WPS.

Yeah I don't get the grey bits either, and the BMPs in the bar up the top get cut off.

Just find the code for that line and add a few pixels to the Y value.

no...go into the root of your player then to .rockbox folder then to the wps folder....place in there (but, if you have the newest build, then this wps should be in there)

Not possible. At the moment the colour wps patch only supports 2-colour bitmaps, for which you specify the colours for each. To get gradients you would have to have one bitmap for each pixel/step of the gradient which would take a hell of a lot of time, and probably not line up properly at the end of it; plus theres some 52 image limit.

I really didn't make that clear did I!? Can someone else explain it better?

I get it, is it possible the colour patch will support gradients in the future?

Why is it that almost nobody seems to have noticed a great patch was added to the tracker very recently : Color BMP support... It's not very advanced yet but it's already huge progress !! We should all be thanking Linus and starting to play with this new feature right now...

All these variations of pauljam! Too many to choose from !

Wow. That Colour Bitmap Support patch... am I reading it right? 24-bit bitmaps? Quite a big jump from the old 1-bit ones . Can anyone elaborate/enlighten us further? (I'm just off to bed so I have no time to try the patch now)

It is indeed 24-bit support. The old 1-bit BMPs still work and ATM it's only these two : no 16 or 32 bit yet...
Also there isn't any transparency possible yet.

The new Pauljam doesn't work yet because Needleboy hasn't put the new 24-bit patch in his build due to instability.

Also the original pauljam's included in the Optimised Build are black and white, you need to edit the RGB ( 255, 255, 255) in the e.g PaulJam2.2.wps file within -

ROOT > .Rockbox > wps

Its partly the backlight on the LCD that uses a lot of power (and gives out the light). How stable is the 24bit patch? I may have to have a little play around with it later .

the 24bit BMP patch is stable, but useless, as it doesn't support transarency yet...
