I wouldnt mind having a picture viewer up and working next which would prob help with things like album art in the WPS possibly. Other then that happy with any and all progress in Rockbox.

I would love if i coult jump to a specific letter in my mp3-list! Thousands of single files are just too much to find anything.

I, for one, would like the H300 LCD remote's buttons correctly mapped... The patch has the buttons backwards...

I reckon colour BMPs in the WPS would open up a whole new world for WPS creation.

Why not an alarm clock. Pluged into some speakers it could wake you up to your favourit track or radio station

I want support for 16-bit BMPs and possibaly jpeg as well so we could eventually have album art. By then, it would be possible to do more elaborate skins with 16-bit BMPs.

But before we get to that stage, I'd like to have a patch which defines a new "Line Selector". (General Settings/ Display /LCD Settings/ Line Selector). Currently, there are Bar(Inverse) which is the default, and Pointer. Now that the color changing patch is getting more popular, people may not like the inverse of their chosen colors which are used for the "Bar" selector. People who use Black for their background, and blue for instance for their foreground, will notice that a white bar with yellow text is very hard to read. I've had this problem from before this color changing patch, when I modified the RGB values of lcd.h manually before compliling. The "Pointer" selector is an OK soloution, but it's tiny, and if you're not concentrating, it'll be difficult to locate.

Basically, I'd like to see:
  1. a Bar (Reverse) selector, where the selected item will have the background color for text, and the foreground color for the bar.
  2. The eventual option of allowing us to choose different colors for the selected text, and its highlight. So the color for the line selector wouldn't have to be only either the inverse or reverse of the current background and foreground colors. But I'll be happy with the (Reverse) for now, as the white highlight with the black background is a let down!

What MU4L means, when you want to browse through a very long list (in file browser, fonts, or anywhere within Rockbox), just keep on pressing "Play" and click up or down to scroll by page. Makes life easier

I beleive, there are more than just one patch for LCD remotes. I personally use the following:
[ 1367824 ] patch for H300 lcd remote buttons
It supports both the H100 and H300 LCD remotes, you select which remote you have from the remote settings (no non-LCD remote support yet). For the H300 LCD remote, the "+10" and "-10" buttons let you scrol by page, which I think is great.

An alarm clock would be my top choice. That and full-color bitmaps for the WPS.

Yeah, BMPS would go down very well.
At the moment I don't use the colour patch because it changes the colours of the status bar icons as well. It would be cool if you could change them separately.

I'd like to see a proper multiband equaliser. Though I think this is more a rockbox development, and I think one of the RB team might be working on it.

Album art would be nice, but it's not at the top of the small list.
I am more than happy with the rate the whole H300 RB dev' has been, I'd never have thought it would be so far developed, from RB itself.. to all the new plugins.

I'm curious.. what was the H100 development like? Were there as many people working on plugins? Or was it a case of.. not that many members at MR or RB?

T'was a long and arduous process.

You H300'ers don't know how good you've got it

It still is. (A-B looping; FF and REW with sound; cosmetic and key assignment improvements, such as for one-handed page scrolling using the joystick alone.)

I think people are more excited at the prospect of rockbox on the h300 series because the colour screen gives so many possibilities - hence so many more people have contributed plugins etc. It's good to see that people with coding skills are helping the rockbox cause.

Not sure if you meant with just wps-wise or generally, but I'd really love to
see RB optimized for the H300 series to improve the battery-life.

Longer battery life = more time to play with the plugins, find bugs, less wear on the battery and more music of course.

It would also be kinda nice if there were seperate backlight timers for the wps and other functions such as text reading, gameplaying, etc. Or maybe an 'always on' -> 'timer' backlight toggle at the top of one of the quick menus? As it is, you can't turn on the BL (outside of the WPS and options screens) without using an already mapped key.

I realize one could just change the BL setting to always on and then read or play a game or whatever, but that's not only time consuming but can cause needless button (and finger! ) fatigue over a period of time.
