Talking The Best Out Of Your Rockbox
Just telin all ya out there, if u want the best out of rockbox , every day download the daily builds from rockbox 'http://www.rockbox.org/auto/build-h300/rockbox.zip' its great to turn it on and c something new!

Just downloaded it and theres some cool new themes!

BTW, does the skin, Dancing Puff Duo, work for anyone?
When I select it I get it loads through the code and then it just stops and I cant turn it off or anything.

It works but it is really shotty. The little dancers intercept the time counter, and that really pisses me off. I just used iAmp with a little peak meter that I added.

yeah, the lcd is really hard to see when the backlight is off, and it does waste battery life.

yes the puff thingies work, and dance proudly like johnny bravo.

no the themes do not come in color and you cannot make one in color
color has not been installed on rockbox yet

I can't see how using a bleeding edge build would be dangerous as it couldn't ever do anything like brick your player. Worst case scenario is that it is nonfunctional and you have to load a functioning build of Rockbox back onto the player.

Is there no way that the build can overwrite the EPROM? If it cant then there is no way for it to brick the player once you have a functioning bootloader loaded.

For that to happen, something has to go *really* wrong. However, it *can* happen, since the original firmware in the flash contains code for erasing and programming the flash. A bad crash could in theory cause a jump to that code and corrupt the flash memory.
