first off i dont get exactly what it is and what you can do with it like can you still view pictures video and have the radio and i tried to download it and it wouldnt work it said something about it being unknown and i was wondering if anyone knew what was wrong and how to download it right

First, I don't understand exactly what Rockbox is and what you can do with it. For example, can you still view pictures? Does it have radio?

I tried to download Rockbox and it wouldn't work. It said something about it being unknown. Does anyone know what was wrong and how to download it correctly?

Weazelball212, Rockbox is an alternate firmware for your H300. It completely replaces the existing firmware. If you want to know more about it, click the link in my signature. If you want to know how to install it, click the Rockbox link in my signature and then click the link for installation instructions. If you have additional questions, please feel free to ask them here as we are always willing to help, but please make some effort to use punctuation in your post. Your original post was pretty much unreadable.

It's not necessarily bad grammar that bothers me. OK, well it does, but I don't correct every little grammar error. However, it does really bother me when people ask for help but can't even be bothered to spend an extra 30 seconds editing their writing to make it understandable to those whose help they seek.

I read through the link on your post. I tried to download the file again but I still got the unkown and it wont work for my computer for some reason. Also after reading for like 30 minutes I could not find out anywhere if you can still view pictures, video and if you can use the radio.

I hope the grammer is better this time I was in a hurry the first time.

Assuming you are on Windows you downloaded fwpathcer.exe and either 1.28K, E, or J or 1.29K correct.

I can't possibly help you unless you provide some more information. What exactly did you try to do? What do you mean by "download the file." Installing Rockbox involves two steps: patching an iriver FW to get the RB bootloader, and downloading and installing a RB build. Did you do both of these steps? What do you mean by "I still got the unkown." What was the exact error message? What did you do to prompt it?

You cannot currently view pictures and video in Rockbox. Likewise, you cannot currently use the radio. The radio will certainly be implemented, as will every other feature described in the WikiManual, which you can find through the link in my signature. However, for the features that are not yet implemented, Rockbox has a dual boot feature, so you can boot int the iriver firmware if you want to view videos, for example.
