My new H140

found it cheap in a shop not working (someone had formatted into NTFS xD) and was cheap.. i couldn't say no... + i felt a little sad for it.. i had to save it

As i expected i recovered the drive using partition magic and now it is rockboxed but also as expected the battery is shot, can the same batteries used for the H300's be used for the H100's ie the 2200mAh Cameron Sino 2G ipod battery with the molex switched?

an asside: muahaaha my collection of iriver players is growing... i already have an unhealthy urge to buy an imp-900 but can't find any on ebay and the little S10 looks teh Hotness

Yes, you can use the same battery. Congrats on your find. Now you have to two time your H340 and show the H140 some love...

That's what I do. I charge the battery up on one and use it walking to/from work for several days until it needs to be recharged. Then I charge the battery up on the other and use that the same way until it needs to be recharged. Then I rotate back to the other one. And so forth...

I too have an (unhealthy?) obsession with DAPs. I have:

1 H340 (my precious!)
1 H130 (upgraded the hard drive - my other precious!)
1 H120 (used by my eldest son, but he's only allowed to use it indoors)
2 H10 5GB (two busted ones - trying to make a good one out of the parts)
2 iPod Mini 4GB (used by my daughter and eldest son for outdoor listening, walking to school, etc.)
1 iFP-1090 256MB (used by my youngest son)

What a bummer. That is such a waste of a great player.
