Question Help with rockbox for h140 please!

Hi all, got a question for you. I have literally just unwrapped my new player, loving it! But want to put rockbox on it and when I went to the Rockbox website, I could only find a download for the h120. Any ideas? Also, is it easy to use? I am VERY new to all this! any help would be VERY gratefully recieved! Thanks a lot!

Congratulations on the new player! I'm sure you'll love it.

That's the download you want.
The H120 and H140 have the same hardware (with the exception of the hard drive size), and so can use the same firmware.
However, the 10 and 15GB versions have a smaller memory buffer (16MB instead of 32MB IIRC), and so need a slightly different firmware version.
There should be two versions on the site - one labelled "H120" for the H120 and H140, and one labelled "H100" or "H110" for the H100, H110 and H115 players.

Rockbox is as easy, if not easier to use than the original FW. If you haven't got to grips with the iRiver FW yet, then this is probably a good thing if you intend to use Rockbox all the time, as some of the buttons have different functions and it can get a little confusing if switching from one to the other regularly.
There is a manual on the Rockbox site which should tell you all you need to know.

If you have any other questions that can't be answered by the manual, try the H1xx FAQ section and a quick search of the forums, as there are many people here who will have already had the same problems/experiences/questions as you.
