Using old version of Rockbox - what am I missing?

I was a bit of a late starter to finally convert to Rockbox, for my H140, as I only finally installed it with the Feb 19th 2006 build. I have been very happy with it (much better than the iRiver firmware - I only boot the original firmware occasionally for the few .wma albums I still have). However I am not one of those who have continually updated it with each new available build. In fact I still use that first build I downloaded back then!

I only like to listen to songs, I don't play games, or record or do any of that clever stuff that others have made plugins for. I love the playlist OTF, the "proper" random shuffle. My only few grumbles really are some menus lock up the remote.

What is there in the newer builds that I might be missing? For a "basic" user like me, is there any really compelling reasons to update, or should I just wait for the (eventual) final release?

If you want to find out for sure, you can always just back up the rockbox folder and download one of the newer builds to see how it performs against your current one.

One reason I'm staying with the current builds is to try out recording in mp3 format.
