IRiver H140 music files playing like FM radio inbetween stations

Hello - this is my first time posting here. My H140 got wet about a year ago when I found myself riding through an heavy storm on my bike. The closest thing I can liken the issue to is if you had the radio tuned inbetween stations. There's sound but it's pretty much just bad static. So I turned it off and let it dry. Now it's a year later, I haven't had any more issues with suprise downpours or any other random moisture issues, and all of a sudden the audio output is doing the same thing. The radio works fine - clear as a bell. All of the mp3 files play as the same garbled static. Any suggestions?

The summer heat and humidity could have caused your water issues to resurface.

If you are comfortable with it, it could be advantageous to open up the shell of your player and let it air dry.

Have you changed your build recently? Sometimes reinstalling can make music sound terrible. A clean install should sort it out. Or your EQ settings might be messed up (if you're using it, but some .cfg themes turn it on)

Try resetting. If that doesn't work, try installing a new build.

If these things don't work, it may be that the DAC chip in your player is faulty.
