Some quick questions

hi i am new to the site, ive had an iriver H120 for 2 years, and ive loved it, and i found this site because i am now replacing my battery due to the fact that the player doesnt have enough power to play for more than an hour and a half. ive never even used rockbox , because i just found out about it a few days ago, so i am doing as much reading as i can about it before i install it after i put in thbe new battery.

anyway, my questions are:

1) when is the the next release of rockbox comming out?

2) when i install it, is there any way of changing the boot up logo?
because i saw on this site: http://www.beermex.com/@spc/iriver/ihpbmp/ some awesome modifications to the logos, but the date of the release of that program is from more than a year ago. so i am not sure if it would be applicable with the latest iriver firmware. and would that program work with RockBox?

or is there some other way to change the logo when rockbox is the firmware?
i saw these instructions on this thread: [How To]Change the boot logo , but thats for the h3xx series. anyone know how i would change the logo on the h120?

There's a new release every day, or even every couple of hours. There's also an experimenta lbuild which gets updated about every other day. The "official" release is supposed to be out May 1.

Don't get me wrong, but that's some pretty pansy ass stuff. If you really feel a need to do that sort of thing, the source code is available, and it's probably not a big deal to switch out the opening graphic and stick in whatever you want. Who knows, maybe someone has done a similar thing and is willing to show you the path to... well, you know.

Welcome to the rockbox club! Once you get that battery happening, and get rockbox installed, you may be too busy actually listening to music to feel a need to muck around with the graphics. It's great stuff!

Well, there is a build every day. These are developmental versions of Rockbox that may have bugs. The first iriver release is planned for May 1.

cool, thanks for the quick replies. and thats great, because i will prob recieve my battery may 1st seeing as how i ordered it today.

and if it is too complicated to change the logos, i guess i wouldnt bother with it, but i just wanted to see if it was possible to do it quickly, cause i want to mod my h120 as much as i can, cause im going to take some boring classes this summer semester, and i have a feeling im going to NEED every option rockbox has lol specially the games =D

i got excited about the logos because i saw the pictures of the modified players on this site http://www.beermex.com/@spc/iriver/ihpbmp/ , and i just figured that having a cool personal logo pluys Rockbox would be sweeet.


and another quick question, is it possible to have a clock in rockbox? because if there is such a thing, i will never wear my watch again lol

There is a clock on rockbox, but I would still suggest using a watch because it is much easier to access. As for boot up logo, it takes almost no time to load and boot up so I think a custom pic would be nearly useless (and it would probably slow down the boot up time anyways). My 2 cents, hope it helped.

There is a clock in Rockbox, but probably not usable on a H120, because this device doesn't have a real time clock.
