Thumbs up My favorite thing about RockBox!

I just learned something VERY cool about RockBox. After you connect your iHP-1XX to your PC and upload some files to it, disconnect it and press play, it still starts playing at the same place you left off BEFORE YOU CONNECTED IT TO THE PC (this is assuming Resume is enabled).

This was always something that bothered me with the iRiver firmware -- connecting to your PC and adding files meant sacrificing the "bookmark" of where you last left off listening. This is a REALLY great feature for me, as I listen to a lot of weird music with very long tracks, and it's great to be able to resume all the time.

Yay, RockBox!

totally. this is the dumbest thing that the firmware does. my cowon x5l does the exact same thing. so stupid.

i'm guessing it has something to do with the way the files on the player are "databased".

Except I've never used the database feature. Does it still mess with the database regardless?

Me either. Maybe it's just some sort of "protection" of the database, even if it's not used. I'm not really sure.
