Reliable SPDIF Optical IN?
First off, I want to thank any RB developers here who have made the H1XX an amazing DAP. My first DAP was a Rio500 and I remember the love that went into writing the third party transfer software for it, this is entirely a different level of love and intensity for a product.
Many field recordists and musicians would like to see the SPDIF optical-in implemented for 16bit/44.1Khz and ideally for 24bit/44.1-96Khz. If done, it would change the quality dramatically for live recordings as well as provide a portable clipboard for musicians to bring HQ material from practice/rehearsals to recording sessions. I know it is currently being worked on. There are a few field recordists that will beta test this if you need any volunteers! Thanks in advance! Some progress has been made by preglow. I don't have any idea how to complile a patch but I am sure a compiled version will be around soon for us to try. 44.1 for now, and I was told 20bit was max for the processor.

It looks like its coming ahead in leaps and bounds! now I guess I need some advice on the best optical in - from an a/d I guess. I see that the Oade mod Edirol is in favour here - any other suggestions?
