Need some handholding

Okay...today updated my Rockbox from Jan build to Mar build. After I copied the .Rockbox directory and the rockbox, iriver file to the player...I had a terrible thought that I was supposed to delete the old files before copying the new ones. So I tried to delete the .rockbox directory but Win XP wouldn't let me because of the "." in the directory name so I renamed it to Rockbox. Now it won't let me delete it because of the file "viewers.cfg <" that is inside. I am now unable to delete that damn config file...how can I delete this directory and the underlying .cfg file? I've reloaded Rockbox and everything works...and I've deleted the other files under "Rockbox" to free up disk space.

All I need now is final cleanup and removal of the old Rockbox directory (renamed from .Rockbox to Rockbox)...

I'd suggest backing up the whole player to your PC, then formatting it (from the iriver firmware, not from WinXP) and starting everything from scratch.
Let me know if you need specific instructions.
Good luck!

Thanks...I hope there is an easier way though, the file I can't delete is only about 4Kb...last resort will be to tell wife my H120 is broken and that I have to buy the 60Gb/iPod Video since she knows how much I use my h120...

You could try to set Rockbox to show All files, then delete the .rockbox folder. Then plug in the USB lead and replace .rockbox from the March version you've got.
