Question about .cfg files

Hello,

I just wanted to configure a few .cfg files for special purposes
e.g. one for headphone with certain settings and one for a car with certain settings.

a few examples

----------------------------------------------
volume: -22
bass: 20
treble: 6
shuffle: no
crossfade: no
wps: /.rockbox/wps7.wps
fonts: /.rockbox/fonts/5x8
----------------------------------------------------
here everything works fine except it doesn't change the font

-----------------------------------------------------
volume: -22
bass: 20
treble: 6
shuffle: yes
crossfade: mix
wps: /.rockbox/wps7.wps
fonts: /.rockbox/fonts/5x8
-------------------------------------------------------
here it doesn't change shuffle and crossfade.
I just noticed that that the configuration for crossfade changed a little bit.
Do I have to put all the parameters for crossfading in the .cfg file?
And why doesn't it change the setting for shuffle from no to yes?

The documentation on rockbox.org doesn't really tell if all the parameters work that way.

My question really is. Can I put all sorts of parameters in the .cfg file or does it work just with a few settings e.g. bass, treble??

thanks

Al

You can put any configurable parameter in the .cfg file, from a single option to every supported option. I suggest having the player write a .cfg file using the "write .cfg file" option on the General Settings --> Manage Settings menu, and then open the resulting file with a text editor to look at what the format for the settings should be.

Thanks !!

I configured all the different settings and saved a .cfg file for each one of them.
works like a charm!!
That made it so easy now to switch from one settig to the other.
The only thing that is missing to make it totally perfect would be the possibility
to configure on button to reach it directly.
But even this way it's totally cool.

Thanks

Al

Yeah, it would be cool if you could access custom configurations from the quick menu.
