Completed Rockbox WPS (NO DISCUSSION!!)
This thread should be thought of similar to the H300 completed skin thread. There is to be no discussion of any WPS here (except comments by the author) - please use the old WPS thread which has become filled with discussion, if you wish to talk about any of the WPS you see here.
Anyone breaking this simple rule will be responsible for Sweet Spot commiting caninicide!! Remember the rules: 1. NO DISCUSSION HERE 2. POST YOUR WPS AND NAME THE FONTS IT WORKS WITH EDIT: Quote:

I'll start off with this for Chicago12/Nimbus12:
Code:
#Make sure this first line is blank! %ac%?ia<%ia|%d2> %ac%?it<%s%it|%s%fn> %pb %ac%pc/%pt %s%?It<Next: | >%It %?It<-| > %Ia Will give you Artist, Track name, Progress Bar, Time Current, Total Time, And Next Track/Artist. It works best with Chicago12 font. EDIT: I've now changed it so the Next: and - only appear once the track title is ready. Just neatens it up a little. REMOTE .RWPS Code:
%ac%s%?it<%it|%fn> %ac%s%?it<%ia|%d2> %ac%s%?id<%id|%d1> %pb%wd %al%pc%ar%pt Track name Artist Album Progress Bar Time Elapsed / Total Time Note that there is no room for the status bar, but if you rewind or fast forward then you will see the status bar. Once my camera's battery is charged I'll try to put a photo on the site. As always any suggestions welcome by PM. Last edited by Big D : October 8th, 2005 at 08:15 AM. |

This is my first WPS, I didn't like a lot of the other ones I'd seen so I made my own, took the better part of a day to learn the placeholders and layout. The line below the progress bar cycles through currrent file data, the line under that is a makeshift animation and below the peak meter is the cycling info on the next song. Thanks to JeremyDavidson for some code ideas (ie to default to filename data if tag isn't present) and all the people he thanked. Font used is the 6x12.fnt that comes as standard. Code:
%s%?ia<%ia|%d2> %s%?id<%id|%d1> %?iy<(%iy)|> %s%?in<%in - |>%?it<%it|%fm> %pc/%pt -%pr %?pp<[%pp/%pe]|> %pb Codec: %t3%fc;Size: %t3%fsKb;Bitrate: %t3%fbKb/s;Sample Rate: %t3%ffKHz %t0.4 /// | \\\;%t0.4 /// / \\\;%t0.4 /// - \\\;%t0.4 /// \ \\\ %pm %?It<%s%t5Next: %It|%sNext: %Fn>;%?Ia<%s%t5By: %Ia|%sBy: %t5%D2>;%?Id<%sAlbum: %t5%Id|%t0>

First off, the WPS Gallery @ Rockbox serves this exact purpose. I'll assume we're gonna have this thread here too for those who don't frequent rockbox.org too much, but it would be nice to post your WPSs there as well as here.
![]() I decided to work on a theme a while ago, with the advent of images implemented into the WPS. However, in the end I decided to go for simplicity, and I'm very happy with the result, so much so that I've been using it since. I used the Snap font (which seems popular), but it should work adequately with any font of the same size. Code:
%?ia<%ia|%d2>
%s%?it<%it|%fn>
%?id<%id|%d1>
%pc/%pt
%pb
%pp of %pe %?pn<(%pn)|>

Owing my design to Teslacuted, this is a variation on his. Thanks for the inspiration.

A slight modification to the Simple WPS above. Use with Nimbus12.
Code:
#Delete this line and leave blank - text should start on the second line!! %ac%?ia<%ia|%d2> %ac%?it<%s%it|%s%fn> %pb %ac%pc/%pt %acUp in %pr %s%ac%?It<%t5%It - %Ia|Please wait...> REMOTE .RWPS Code:

Cheers Sweet Spot,
Minor update, I tweaked the animation (the vertical didn't look right), brought the playlist position into the next song cycler and expanded the time line. (Use the 6x12 font) -Another Update, I centered the top 3 lines, and stuck a hash in with the track number and centered the file info. Code:
%ac%s%?ia<%ia|%d2> %ac%s%?id<%id|%d1> %?iy<(%iy)|> %ac%s%?in<#%in - |>%?it<%it|%fm> %pc/%pt Remaining: %pr %pb %acCodec: %t3%fc;%acSize: %t3%fsKb;%acBitrate: %t3%fbKb/s;%acSample Rate: %t3%ffKHz %t0.4 /// l \\\;%t0.4 /// / \\\;%t0.4 /// - \\\;%t0.4 /// \ \\\ %pm %?Fn<%t5Next: %It|%sEnd Of Playlist>;%?Ia<%s%t5By: %Ia|%t0>;%t5Playlist Position: %pp of %pe

The second screen displays a playlist name if I'm playingback from a saved playlist.
The next info is displayed on the second last line, album and artist alternate on the same line. %ac%s%?ia<%ia|%d2> %ac%s%?id<%id|%d1> %ac%s%?it<%?in<%in-|>%it|%fn> %ac(%pp|%pe) %pb %ac%pc | %pt %?ps<[%ps]> %ac%pn %ac%s%t4Al: %Id;%ac%s%t4Ar-%Ia %acvol %pv | bat %bt

Here is a modification of the first wps in this thread - should keep all you info junkies happy without cluttering the display! For Chicago12 (best) or Nimbus12.
Now works whether the files are tagged or not. Also added are intermittent album, genre, year, and file type to the top line: Artist (5s) -> Album (2s) -> Artist (5s) -> Genre (Year) (2s) -> Artist (5s) -> bitrate filetype (2s) -> REPEAT If any of these are missing then it will display first directory (should be album) instead. Say genre and year are missing from the tags then you will get: Artist (5s) -> Album (2s) -> Artist (5s) -> Album (2s) -> Artist (5s) -> bitrate filetype (2s) -> REPEAT I have also modified the Next: so it only displays if it has retrieved the information and this can be either tags or file and directory. Works fine without tags if you have your last two folders of the path as Artist/Album with the songs in the album folder. Code:
#Delete this line and leave blank - text starts on the second line!! %ac%s%t5%?ia<%ia|%d2>;%s%ac%t2%?id<%id|%d1>;%s%ac%t5%?ia<%ia|%d2>;%ac%t2%?ig<%ig %?iy<(%iy)|>|%d1>;%ac%s%t5%?ia<%ia|%d2>;%ac%t2%fbkbps %fv %fc %ac%s%?it<%it|%fn> %pb %ac%pc/%pt %s%?It<Next: %It - %Ia|%?Fn<Next: %Fn - %D2| >> REMOTE .RWPS Code:
%ac%s%?it<%it|%fn> %ac%s%?it<%ia|%d2> %ac%s%?id<%id|%d1> %pb%wd %al%pc%ar%pt Track name Artist Album Progress Bar Time Elapsed / Total Time Note that there is no room for the status bar, but if you rewind or fast forward then you will see the status bar. Once my camera's battery is charged I'll try to put a photo on the site. As always any suggestions welcome by PM. Last edited by Big D : October 8th, 2005 at 08:16 AM. |

EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT!!!! if you do try out my wps, please PM me back and give me some feedback on how it looks and works. i want to keep on improving it, but its basically impossible for me to know whats wrong with it because i dont even own a h120/40. so just PM me with a small review and what you think about it. also,if you dont mind, send me a screendump so i can further improve the wps.UPDATE: some users wanted a more clean look with the background, so i redid it and i made it thinner, more even, and a bit more streamlined. its the second bmp attached. the third bmp attached is the same as the second one, but its even thinner, so theres a little bit less clutter, and maybe room for an extra letter in a song title or artist. my ifp-1090 wps. turn off status bar at the top, and use snap font for best results. i must stress that you need to leave the first line as a blank, or put something in it (i put a dash "-". so it will take up that first line. if not, the text will not align with the background correctly. Code:
- %ac%s%?id<%id|Album Unavailable> %ac%s%?ia<%ia|Artist Unavailable> %ac%s%?it<%it|Track Title Unavailable> %ar%pv %bl %| %| %pc%|%pt %pb%ac %ac%pm %ac%?It<Up Next Is...|Retrieving Next Song Data...> %ac%s%?Ia<%Ia|Artist Unavailable> %ac%s%?It<%It|Track Title Unavailable> %x0|background.bmp|0|0| screendump and bmp are attached Last edited by jon62690 : August 14th, 2005 at 10:47 AM. |

But bad news is, is that it wont work until rockbox will support alternating images. the animated version has the peakmeters that "seem" to look like they work, and the dots on the bottom flash in and out. EDIT: ugh, i keep on forgetting to put things down. i also fixed the volume icon, so it should be in the right place now. ANOTHER EDIT: i fix some pixels of some of the corners and did some slight mods, but i dont think you can notice it unless u look at them pixel by pixel. (its the second background) Last edited by jon62690 : August 14th, 2005 at 10:49 AM. |

Here are different renditions of mine (original rendition came from Nobby), I can use SNAP font again with these being since the text is centered.
