This is a remote .rwps compatible with any of my .wps codes in this thread (using chicago12 font) and Firefly's remote patch. Still works with both tagged and untagged files. Displays:

Track name
Artist
Album
Progress Bar
Time Elapsed / Total Time

Note that there is no room for the status bar, but if you rewind or fast forward then you will see the status bar. Once my camera's battery is charged I'll try to put a photo on the site.

this WPS is optimized for firefly's remote patch.
i've borrowed and modified graphics and elements from two of my favourite WPS's so far: nobby's and engineeer's.

here's the main screen:




the space with the album info rotates with track info.

here's a pic of the remote:

sorry i couldn't take a better pic, but my camera died before i could take a better one.

the playlist info in the bottom right corner rotates with bitrate info and codec.
when forwarding, rewinding, or pausing, the bottom right corner displays this info. the pic of the remote is paused.

included in the .zip is a .CFG file for easy switching.
uses nimbus-12 as its font.

I made a iPod-style WPS, there's no remote wps yet, but I'm working on it.
Note, this is my first attempt at a WPS.

Running the ipod.cfg should make everything work: statusbar off and font chicago12

UPDATED 21/11/05: I've changed the code to be compatible with the new wps standard which uses a subdirectory. unzip the files to your wps folder.

Here's something a bit different! I wanted to create somthing stylish, with only the essential information (for me), and with as little 'movement' as possible - so no scrolling or alternate lines.

The wps has 4 'Bubbles' showing:
1) Track name, Artist name
2) Track name for next track
3) Time elapsed/Time Remaining Track number/Total Tracks
4) Volume / Battery life

Requirements:
- A font with a height of 8 - I'm using Nedore-8
- Set the LCD to Inverse using General Settings | Display | LCD Settings | LCD Mode | Inverse
- Low contrast, so the 'off' pixels look truly off - I'm using 25
- Status bar off, though it isn't to hard to change the settings if you really want.

Notes:
- Looks really good when you've in the dark and just using the backlight
- Doesn't look so good when the artist/track name is over 25 characters
- Incompatible with scrolling due to the way rockbox currently draws the background
- I'd like to include some text to let the viewer know if 'Shuffle' mode is on, but there doesn't seem to be a tag for it, ony a tag for 'repeat shuffle'.

Here's a couple of variations on the Bubbles WPS posted above, essentially the same information, just arranged differently.

4Bubbles needs a font of height 9 - I'm using Nedore-9
Squares needs a font of height 8 - I'm using Nedore-8

iAmp v1.5 released!

iAmp now comes in two flavours:
(for remote support, you need firefly's remote patch)
1. regular version (no status bar patch) (iAmp1.5.zip)
2. those who use len0x's build / those who patched their rockbox with the status bar patch (iAmp1.5--len0x.zip)

(it's just a gradient, but it's still swankier than before!)

Issues
------
-For those with A52 and MP1 files, there is unfortunately no graphic representation on the remote. It still shows if it is A52 or MP1 (via ASCII), but due to space limitations I had to omit those (since they're the least used... i think!)
-Need to increase space for RWPS! (1400 bytes perhaps?)
-A bug in the latest builds of Rockbox shows that the remote is plugged in when it is not, not an iAmp error, awaiting fix...
-Another bug occurs when playlist size is over two digits (eg. using root.m3u)... in the remote, the playlist display (in bottom right corner) will be truncated (obviously!)

Feedback
---------
-What do you think of the multiple "Play" status images on the main console (the "bar" at the bottom)? (too clunky, get rid of it, invert the bar, etc)

-anything else i can do? perhaps someone would like to redesign the top horizontal bar on the main console?

I've made some updates to the wps I posted before. Now the volume icon changes as the volume goes up/down, and the battery icon changes as the charge left in the battery decreases.

It still uses the Nimbus-14 font with the status bar off.

(I hope the battery icon changes as I expect, I'm still waiting for the battery to run down to make sure!)

Edited 15th Nov: Sure enough, the battery icon didn't work properly, so I've fixed it now...

Updated animated DancePuffDuo WPS with RWPS theme:


Again, thanks to Wild Maiden for the DancePuff animation. Note that the sliders either side of the codec bmp reflect the song rating.

The zip file is attached; contains DancePuffDuo folder, wps & rwps. extract these to /.rockbox/wps and DancePuffDuo.cfg extract this to /.rockbox./themes. With latest build go to Browse Themes and select DancePuffDuo.

Feel free to edit it to your preferences.

Long time lurker, first time poster.
Here’s my contribution to the WPS front.

The number in the top right is the volume.
The bottom right is time elapsed, total time, and time remaining, respectively.
The very bottom is the next track. Note that the bottoms of dangly letters are clipped (the “y” in “Little Rhymes”).
I’ve no indicators for shuffle, repeat, etc, as I don’t use these functions.

EDIT: Tweaked it a bit, added repeat, shuffle, hold icons.


And, for inspiration, I’ve included this one.

the rwps is similar but only basic with the status bar and artist/title/album-info plus time and codec-info and progressbar.
