Frozen Rockbox h120 -- reset button doesn't work

Well, I screwed the pooch this time. I was messing around with the PCM recording feature in the debug menu (it warned me to keep out, but did I pay attention?) and the player froze on me. It's still in the recording screen, the backlight's on, and none of the buttons are responding -- not even the reset button. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?

If I can just get it to reboot, I'm sure everything will be okay. Even if the HD got screwed up in the crash, I can reformat it through the bootloader's USB mode. So the million dollar question is: how can I get it to reboot?!?

Oh, and this is the bleeding edge build as of about 11:00 Pacific time Thursday night.

Please help, O Rockbox Gods....

Keep trying the reset button. It has never failed with solving everything as yet.

You sure you're hitting the reset button right? Mine is a bit fiddly.

This sounds like every other lockup, with the backlight but no response etc. Reset always does it for me.

yea, I also had my problems with the reset button... A paperclip is definitly TOO big in my case. I have to use a very thinn pin. and even with that I have to try several times, til I hit the button correctly...

Yes, my reset button is dodgy too, it seems to have fallen inside the player somehow, or something. I use a safety pin and wiggle it around inside for a while, it can take a fair bit of doing but eventually it resets when you get the right place. Had a bit of a scare myself first time it happened and the reset didnt work.

my reset button is a little bit above the opening, so try wiggling it around in there.

of course, if it broke off, there's no fix for that...

yeah, everyone was right -- turned out I just needed to poke around a bit to get the reset button to work. Strange, since I had used it before without any trouble. It would have been pretty weird, though, to have the reset button dependent on software! Anyway, thanks for everyone's help. Hopefully that's my last afraid-I-bricked-my-player moment

Be careful with pins, a sharp tip could damage your reset button or even destroy it after some time...
Better use a paperclip (i'm sure everyone can get the right size)
I also use the tip of a propelling pencil, which also works well (i never have to fiddle around to find the button, so its not only better for safety but for speed also)

Yeah, I was worried about that with a pin as well. I would think that they'd make it so you could press the reset button with whatever'll fit in the hole, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I tried to use a large-ish paperclip, which fit smoothly in the hole, but even when it felt like it was pressing with a satisfying click, nothing happened. Makes me wish I could get in there and see what the actual button looks like. Anyone know if there are pictures anywhere on the web that show the innards of the reset button?
