by the way,
the modified original firmware doesn't work correctly anymore... e.g. ogg-files can't be played anymore (modified 1.65U) (not very good since 90% of my music are OggVorbis files) has anyone this problem, too ? |

are there any plans to have a .rvf plugin for rockbox on iriver? Being able to watch videos, albeit in grayscale, on an iriver player is a cool prospect.

Also encounter issues with mp3 (corrupted, iHP display "file not synced" on main LCD!!! :/)
It freeze the iHP on some mp3 wich are palyable by foobar on the iHP-disk... I returned to 1.63 modified but still the issue with the é"corrupted" files... The HD check seems OK thought... Curious... PS: i can reflash iRiver anyway, curious...

Seems doubtful that the bootloader merge affect the iRiver fw in a way that corrupt only playback on some files... Very probably in case the merge is issued the iHP would be simply dead... very, very strange in fact...

well, no problems here using the 1.63 firmware with rockbox.
i'd share my fw, but i'd prefer to let the developers distribute it... maybe the question to ask here is: is anyone using the 1.65 fw with rockbox NOT experiencing the above problems? |
|
|||
|
dunno (and don't think so) if this has to do somethign with the altered FW, but this evening, my h-140 broke ... the disk can't be read anymore (doens't boot up - just a little "clicking"-voice and then a "hdd error"... (mod. 1.63, crash when playing with the normal FW)

Did anyone else notice the 1.65U rbx fw took forever for rbx to boot aswel as having the ogg bug?!?
Just realised how much longer it took as i reinstated the 1.63E rbx fw and it boots instantly.

Just thought id let everyone know of a problem i had last night:
I tried renaming a file using rbx, but pressed play at the wrong time and named it as a blank file by accident. Rbx then only showed that there were 2 files on the HDD when there were many more. Tried to reboot rbx but it gave an error message and booted straight into original fw n.b. the original fw showed all the files, including the blank one and its contents. neither linux or windows would open or show teh contents this file. Then i tried renaming or deleting the suspect file in windows and linux, both gave an error msg, corrupt file I then gave up and coppied everything else off the iriver, formated it and copied everything back on. problem solved. everyone else be careful naming files with a blank name.
