Yes, people do generally return stuff in some circumstances. There is still some good in this world. The less likely they are able to use it, the more likely it is to be returned.

Yah if it was password Protected so there was no way they could use it and you have a 50 dollar return reward, theres actually a very good chance theyd just return it for the 50 bucks.

Also I had some ideas for more features that i couldnt see as being too hard to make.

How about a built in language translator? Ive seen it done on VERY old cellphones, and i think it could be extremely useful. Even if it didnt have the power to translate whole sentences, just basic word translations would be great.

Would that not be able for someone else to do as a plugin?

SWEET!!!!

thanks for helping. can someone explain this in newbie terms like names of software how to make it actually work etc. cause am properly slow to understand things. thanks

Hey guys, im dearly sorry if im making a mistake BUT

No matter how hard i try my OTF playlists arent coming out how id like them. Ive searched and seached and cant find an answer. I wnat to be able to pick and choose any song i want for the playlist, and all I can seem to do is make a playlist of all the songs in a specific folder. Can someone shine some light on this?

ah yes this had me floored for a while as well. What you do, is highlight the folder or song you want to playlist, hold down the joystick for a second or so, and a menu will pop up. Select playlist and insert. Continue, and when finished go to save playlist - you will have to use the record button to delete the previous file name, and don't forget to add .m3u on the end. I've found that I have to enter things in reverse order when playlisting - i.e. insert the song i want played last first.

Does anyone know anything about this then?????? I assume it would be easy enough to implement

Both the Ear and Line Out outputs are connected to the same output from the DAC, so both are affected by the volume control. There is nothing we can do about it.

Yep it is. Just leave the same volume and use the volume on the hifi. Simple. Easier than coding stuff in the player

Yes I feel the same. I think we are likely to see a firmware from Rockbox that will blow away anything Iriver could ever hope to deliver and then some.

Again like you I am not brave enough to flash my player yet...better to have a player with limited features than no player at all.

I feel very humble in the presence of the Rockbox developers. You guys are the real genuises of this world.

Damn, seperate line and headphone output would be useful.

A solution would be to have a default on volume, so if the DAP was used with the hifi previously it'll be on 40. Then when using it portably you switch it on, but it's still at 40 and you forget with canal phones in. Ow.

So perhaps if Rockbox added default volume upon poweron (adjustable) then it'll revert from that 40 to your preference, say 20 and will be safe- if still using hifi just increase it back to 40.

errr yes I know, but best to set line output from iriver to max to equal normal line level and similar to other sources. Adjust hifi amp.

But if output on iriver is 20 (safe for phones) it's far too low from line level, that means ramping up pre-amp. Again if you forget to reduce hifi amp back before switching to CD source most likely damage speakers.

So default upon powerup get around this.

Couple of times I've plugged my phones into the DAP and I've forget the volume was on 40.

Just save all your settings by writing a .cfg file (find the option in the menu somewhere) and this will be loaded automatically every time you boot up. Problem solved.

Belgarath, there is an potion to insert last in a playlist. Just use that.

Here's the 1.65 firmware- try to be nice to the server, it sucks as it is. If someone would kindly mirror it, that would be great

http://www.jamesgao.com/misc/new.hex

Tested on my iriver, works very well... I'm highly impressed! Boots up in a moment, navigation such a DREAM compared to the old iRiver firmware. Can't wait till we get mp3 playback!

I'm on the verge of putting rockbox on my H. I don't know if I should though.

Has anyone had ANY problems caused by having rockbox on their H?

What do I do with the above file posted by jamesshuang so? Could someone please pm me, or reply here as to how you take full advantage of it, how to get the gameboy games going, where to get the games (if they are legal?!?!) how to get plug ins etc. As I said, I've been following this thread since post 1. It's just become far too confusing at this stage

Thx you so much jamesshuang !!!

I think lots of people like me haven't the development environment to make it but can understand what you are dealing with !!! I just want to test rockbox but, without the mp3... now i'll be able to switch between the two firmwares before having the final release of rockbox !!!

According to the md5 checksum of your file, your new firmware is based on the US version. Anyone has made it with the 1.65EU firmware ?
