Exclamation Blackthunder Custom Build

Custom Rockbox Build
updated August 10, 2008 rb ver: 18654

Patches:
4733 - Multifont
8799 - User definable list position
2885 - Ignore The (thanks to isanggon at abi forums)
5697 - BMP Resize
8523 - Disable WPS update when backlight off
7432 - SNC Viewer
8961 - Anti-Aliased Fonts

Additional Languages:
aoler.lang: 12 year old instant message shorthand.
pirate.lang: Arrrr maties, come here or I'll plunge my hook in you!
fudd.lang: Elmer Fudd-style. Be vewy, vewy quiet... I'm using Wockbox! Huhuhuhuhuhuh!
redneck.lang: It's alright to be a redneck, it's alright to workin hard in the sun all day, drink a couple beers after bailin' some hay...
drawl.lang: Southern drawl. No offense, Texans.

Included Themes:
20gb: Moribund, Moribund 2, Brushed Metal
5/6gb: HClix

Update 10-9 - synced to r18654
updated snc viewer, user definable list position, and multifont. Removed HTML Parser, Picture Gallery, Year Album, Custom Splash, and Amaze 3D Game because I didn't feel that I needed them, let me know if anyone needs/wants these patches back. I added some "fun languages" I found on the rockbox website to try them out, they don't really server a purpose but are kind of interesting I guess. I also uploaded a new set of aa fonts. I currently do not have a cable for my 20gb H10 so I was unfortunately not able to test this build. But it should work, everything is great on my sansa.

Update 8-2 - synced to r18176
updated snc viewer patch, updated user definable list position. Attempted to enable usb stack, but I had trouble getting it to work on my laptop. I also added a new link to the 20gb sim, somehow got removed. Also added a link to view all my mediafire uploads in case new version doesn't work.

Update 7-18 - synced to r18075
updated sncviewer patch, included hclix theme 5/6gb version

Update 7-5 - synced to r17945
Added custom splash, year album tag for database(requires rebuild), photogallery(haven't tried it yet), html parser
added a 5/6gb sim

Update 7-3 - synced to r17910
removed thinkfast plugin.
Added user definable list, anti-alias fonts, ignore the, amaze 3d maze game, snc viewer. I think I fixed disable wps update when backlight off so it works now, alternating sublines will update very fast after backlight turns on, but battery life should be saved.
Anti-Alias fonts didn't look so great on the H10 screen, but I have included the patch and fonts for you to try on your own.
Moribund, Moribund 2, Brushed Metal 2 have been included.

Info About Patches
here is will post any information required about added functions, this is *not* full documentation of included patches, view flyspray for that, this is just what I've found or think should be known. hopefully I'll add better documentation later.

Multifont: add 'userfontX:' line cfg file, then that font can be set in wps viewport. (0 is system font, 1 is font: tag, 2 is userfont1, ect)
Custom List: add the following line to a cfg file 'list viewport: x,y,length, height,fo ntnumber, forgroundco lor, backgroundcolor' note this uses commas and not pipes. ex: list viewport: 10,10,140,108,3,FFFF FF,222222
Ignore The: one of my favorite patches, turn on or off in fileview, requires database rebuild to work in database
snc viewer: view lyrics on screen with music. find lrc files online or use plain .txt, files must have same name as song, you can add timing to plain text files using the plug in
Disable WPS Update: when the backlight is turned off the wps will not be updated, saving battery life, a known side effect of this is if you use alternating sublines, they will flash quickly when the backlight gets turned back on

H10 20GB Version rockbox-h20-18654.zip
H10 5/6GB Version rockbox-h10-18654.zip
H10 20GB Sim h20sim.zip
H10 5/6GB Sim rockbox-h10-17945sim.rar

All mediafire files http://www.mediafire.com/rockboxbt

anti aliased fonts (taken from Kugels sansa build) aafonts.rar *updated to new font naming standards

You won't get custom list going with the current SVN without extensive rewrites AFAIK.

there is a sansa build that has it going from not to long ago, i realised there is a modified version of multifont for use with custom list(custom list applies clean, but with multifont things get a little wierd) its a little old so not sure if it will work.

has anyone tried this build out? I'm making a new version in a day or two for my h20 and sansa, wondering if i should bother with a 5/6gb?

I'm trying your H20 build now. One last bout of database corruption forced me to upgrade today.
It boots, beyond that I can't attest yet. I was disappointed you didn't include your themes in the default build.

Just out of curiosity how's the Sansa shaping up? I bought my girlfriend an e280, but when I checked it out months ago, the install looked a little painful and the usb stack wasn't in place.

Thanks again for your hard work.

I've got a new build I'm putting up later today, I did some mild testing on the H20, and Sansa. Got some more patches working.

I freaking love the sansa, I got a e260, it was pretty cheap, small works good, the only downfall is the amount of storage, its hard to go from the 20gb H10 to a 6gb sansa. Installation was no problem(i used the rockbox installer).

NEW BUILD UP

I made a hClix 1.2 WPS for 5/6GB working on this build .
But i can't make work the "Userdefinable list possition" patch. I added this line on my cfg file:
list viewport: 6|16|118|118|1|FFFFF F|000000|
It doesn't work :/

Edit: Nevermind, i found the solution:
list viewport: 6,16,118,100,1,FFFFF F,000000

edit: done, i'll put up better documentation later, but theres a little to get you going

Is anti alised font patch usefull ?
It's probably using battery life for nothing.

Mykell, i'll post it very soon, i only worked on the blue theme yet (wich is working now).

np, i hardly even use my h10 anymore, but started doing builds for my sansa, so figured i'd keep you guys updated with an h10 build as well.

if you want kind I can add your theme to be included with the 5/6gb build, so people can have an example of the new syntax (hopefully it uses conditional vp's?)

I like your build, but the album art year thing drives me nuts. I haven't cleaned up my album years, and with Amazon and half the world labeling albums with the year they were re-released, I never will.

Is there anyway to turn it off?

Great! Now I just need to wait a couple of days to actually hook my desktop up to the landline (currently "borrowing" un-encrypted wireless), and I will have some new stuff to play with. Thanks a lot!

I'm not positive, but I think if you replace the tagnavi.configure in the rockbox dir with the one found in the original rockbox build it should take that away

alternatively, both foobar and the godfather are great for retaging files

Does the blackthunder custom build have the USB stack enabled? I am running vista and if I do the "UMS trick" my h10 5gb shows up as a drive, but if I let RockBox load and then connect to a USB port it does not act like a drive at all. It wants to find drivers for my "Rockbox media device".

I didn't like the "year album" thing either, so I saved a copy of the tagnavi.config file and then edited it. I replaced all instances of "yearalbum" with "album", rebooted and Voila, not more years showing up anywhere in album names!

Any plans to do so? Does it eat up 1) CPU cycles when unconnected, 2)battery power when unconnected or large amounts of it when connected 3)lots of disk space?

The main reason I have not enabled usb is because I use this build on my sansa, and the sansa has data coruption issues with the usb stack.

Just looked into it on the wiki and it seems i just need to edit the makefile to enable usb meaning it wouldn't be to much of a pain to enbable it for the h10's. I'll look into doing that on my next update.

Also, anyone using the photoviewer or html parser? I was thinking of removing the two because I don't use either one

I am using the photoviewer, but the HTML parser can be dropped as far as I am concerned.
