Tracks skip every 10 seconds with rockbox
Hi, I recently installed Rockbox on my h10 20gb. I got today's build and when I go to listen to any song in .mp3 or .wma (only formats i have) the track skips every 10 seconds or so and it just keeps playing after a little delay, like a hiccup. When I watch videos there are no skips in the sound. I tried listening with the original firmware and it played fine. Anybody have any ideas whats wrong?
Also is there any way to get gameboy roms to run a normal speed? Or to run .gba files? Last edited by _jedge : May 28th, 2007 at 07:47 PM.

Your skips is because your using the default WPS, wich including peak meters.
Using other theme like this one will solve the problem. About the Rockboy.. The processor on the H10 isnt fast enough to run the games at full speed. Gameboy Advanced (.gba) games is not supported. Only .gb and .gbc BTW Welcome to Misticriver!! =)

Because its killin' the cpu and not enough power is left for the audio playback to play...
The default WPS including peak meters. Of course there is an option to add peak meters to any other theme but no one is doing this because the playback is skipping. (Yes, every WPS with peak meters will cause skipping)

have you got the equaliser switched on? that might be the cause of the problem. my music tends to skip when i have the equaliser switched on.

I have a bunch of different wps' that i downloaded like lavenia and bosel glass but when i try and switch it it either freezes on the wps browser or when i try and view the resume play back screen. Then i reset it and it still has the peak meters.
Then I turned of the eq and I think that fixed it but now i can't change the wps  Is there a way to get a gba emulator to run on the h10? Or would it be way too slow?

music skipping
I have similar probs with my H1020GB. Tracks skipping, not being able to transfer mp3's easily, cyclic redundancy checks, losing communication between pc & device. Have turned off EQ and used simple WPS's to no avail. When I try to revert back to iriver firmware all I get is 'system initialising' - nothing else. I can revert back to rockbox and load music one track at a time with the hope communication isn't lost and that the tracks might just play (128 & 192 kbps seem to have a better chance). I sympathise with your frustration and if anything comes to light I'm sure we will be eternally happy!

i doubt its the hard drive if it only happens with rockbox.
are you both using the correct bootloader with the right rockbox? if you're using angrymans rockbox build i *think* you need 007_quick's bootloader, but don't quote me on that.

Hmmm not sure whose build i'm using. Downloaded from daily build site as compressed file & got bootloader through link from the rockbox manual. Hey _jedge, try deleting lavenia plus - the theme etc, I doubt you need to delete the font though. Device should then revert to a default wps.

I'm tryin to get it off the stupid default lol, i realized that its just the lavenia backdrop not the lavenia wps because if I can change the backdrop.
I downloaded a bunch of different themes + wps' and the themes work great but when i change the wps it says settings loaded but i open it and it did NOTHING, other than what the theme change changed.

If you are sure that youve got the right bootloader, the right build and the right theme... report problems again...

Lots of themes need to be updated... THIS HAPPENS WITH ALL NEW BUILDS because of changes in the code.... So just look for themes which especially point that they work with the latest builds....
