Napster Unlimited + ROCKbox

Does it work together? I know the H10 20g works with napster unlimited, but lately it hasnt been working for me. Does anybody know if these two will work if i change the firmware to ROCKbox?

I don't see rockbox being capable of playing DRM'd WMA tracks ever.

Normally I would say it is not safe to predict things about Rockbox, however, this may be one of the few exceptions....

Napster will not work with rockbox. Nor will any other music rental or DRM based services.

Also, currently rockbox does not support .wma files either. This may change in the future.

*edit* wow I really am slow tonight lol.... need sleep...

Well, that's DRM for you! Its not really your music either - it technically still belongs to Napster and you're just renting the rights to play it. Stop paying your subscription and your music becomes even more useless.

Nobody said there is no work being done on wma. It was news ages go that progress was being made, untill the dev's house burnt down. Now, as I undersand it they have someone willing to work on this as part of google's summer of code.

DRM wma on the other hand will not ever be supported as due to legal and licensing issues.

It did. There has been slight progress since then but nothing substantial as i understand it. Now I cant find the WMA task on flyspray so I don't know what's been going on with it recently. Other than its in the google summer of code thing and someone wants to work on it.

Thanks Jeny. I think that in this day and age, pretty much everybody knows where to look if they'd like to venture down the darkened ally ways which are home to 'frowned upon sources by the RIAA' and such.

For one, if you know how to read at all, then you should have read Mistic's policy on linking to said places. If you didn't want to read, that's your problem, and will be dealt with accordingly. It's not like you didn't know. For the record, it's called covering yer' ass. Be smart, people !
