Audio/Video Sync Issues on H10 w Rockbox
Hey guys...
I discovered this forum after a coworker told me it was possible to put video on my h10 and i did a few searches on the net. I installed rockbox and was able to get a video on there playing at a decent frame rate but the audio was off by a second or 2. Has anybody found a way to resolve this or should i just give up on the idea of having video on my h10 (5gb). I'm not too pressed to have it on there but i did think it would be a nice feature (watching music videos, or youtube clips when i get bored, etc). |

It is still getting figured out. You can hit the rew. button, and set it to limit framerate (could have been too high) and skip frames, both as yes. The sound will cut out after a few minutes, as they havent found a way to dump the buffer that is full of played sound (hope I got the technical parts right). Once they figure that out, it should be almost perfect. You should also check out rockbox.org, and they have a wiki page on the Mpegplaer.

Not really.
Audio/Video sync is not implemented yet, so it's basically running independently. The video plays on one processor, the audio on the other. The video/sound cuts because the plugin doesn't know how to refill the buffer. Once the video/sound reaches the end of the buffer, it stops. This is usually around 5 minutes of playback time. |

Indeed.
Rebuffering and A/V sync has been added into mpegplayer. It works very nicely, but one thing the devs haven't really touched base on is the treble distortion introduced in one of the first rebuffering/AV sync updates. |
