rockbox and wmv files

on the rockbox site, i cannot figure out if it supports wmv files
and if it doesn't is there a way to mod it, as all my files are in the wmv format

Rockbox does not support wmv files. The only video file type that is supported by Rockbox, is MPG with MP3 multiplexed in it.

The WMV are compressed files, H10 haven't enough CPU to decode that !!

You need to transcode the video on uncompressed format. See:

No, wma is not supported.

Yes you can "mod" Rockbox to support it, if you want to rewrite the required WMA decoder to only use fixed-point math, optimise it, and implement it into Rockbox .

Yes you can dual-boot. Check the dual-boot tutorial thread.

MPEG is not an uncompressed video format.

It's compressed, it's just a different type of compression. Like the difference between MP3 and Ogg/Vorbis.

ya I would like WMA support in Rockbox as well and if that mod that was mentioned if it does work a patch of that would be awesome.

eh i dont like wmv just get a coverter or somethin. Shame theres no converter for m4p files (itunes protected) i have to burn the songs onto an audio cd then rip them

Actually there are several different converters for mp4 to mp3, but you will lose some quality.
