Mine seems to turn off every time. What exactly are the conditions of it not turning off? Type of player, rockbox build, etc... You might also want to submit a bug on rockbox.org\

i thought i was having this problem every once in a great while, it would freeze on the shutting down screen, i would always just use a paper clip to reset the player. But one time I didn't reset it and just let it sit for a bit, and it ended up shutting down on its own after about thirty seconds or so

I think I might've had this problem a couple of times. It looked like it was shutting down, but it was just the backlight turning off after 10 seconds. I think it eventually froze after a little while. The reason I noticed was because when I went to turn it on again, nothing happened. After a reset, the battery had "mysteriously" drained quite a bit, so it never really turned off, I suppose. If that's the kind of problem you're having, I don't know how to fix it. Just reset your player every time you shut it down to make sure it's off.
