A few questions about rockbox.
Alright, I've FINALLY put rockbox on. Some of you can recall me making a topic about rockbox, but this time its for real.
A few questions though. 1. Is the vertical touch pad only used for one by one selection with your thumb vs. the original firmware which allowed you to run your thumb up and down the touch pad to make the selection? I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. 2. How can I save my settings? It's getting kind of tiresome to put on a theme and change everything every time I turn on my H10. 3. Are games supposed to show up on the main menu or do I have to access the .rockbox folder to play the games? 4. How do I adjust my clock? Is it possible to change it to regular AM/PM or is it permanently military time? 5. What is car adapter mode? Much thanks to anyone who answers these questions. Rockbox does not yet work properly when you run your thumb down the touch pad, so you can either tap the up and down or hold the up and down to scroll. 2. How can I save my settings? It's getting kind of tiresome to put on a theme and change everything every time I turn on my H10. Well, it should automatically save your settings each time you power off. It does for me, that is. 3. Are games supposed to show up on the main menu or do I have to access the .rockbox folder to play the games? To play the games, press the power button once at the main menu and then go to Browse Plugins or something like that. That is where all the games are located. As for the other questions, i'm not sure of. Hope this helped! |

I'd like to ask a question too:
is it possible to enable backlight on keypress when hold is on? I'm so used to it I found the possible settings for it "Backlight (On hold key)" and there's 3 options: on, off, normal on is permanent on, off and normal doesnt make any difference (none of them turns backlight on) |

Try using the rockbox manual on rockbox's site: www.rockbox.org
It answered most of my questions. I still have one question though. WHAT IS CAR ADAPTER MODE?!!1!one!1? |

Ive read the manual but there was no reference to this option
I figured out the difference between normal and off modes, off turns backlight off immediately, while normal lets it wear off so I guess what I want is not possible |

I don't think so...
IF this is for a quickview at song/artist, while for example the player is laying on the table next to you, you might try *not* putting it on hold but setting the 'Only Backlight on First Keypress' setting.. But if it's for taking out of your pocket the check on the time of day, then yeah, you'll need to develop a double-flip-of-the-hold-button technique like I did..
