Is there a way to introduce images for the menus like the old firmware(but of cousre much better looking)? If there is I would like to get into developing it for the H10... Any info is appreciated.
Peace out Quik

I was also thinking about this the other day. I reckon that it would be awesome if there was a similar layout to the original firmware menu with better pictures plus extra menu options that only Rockbox offers ie. plugins

Because rockbox was started in a time where no graphical interfaces where possible for the players... Now the players developed further and rockbox, better said the devs do the best to make it as much as possible compatible for all available players, so all graphical investigations are till now optional and are taken out from the core... There is a new thing planned called viewports, which should enhance the graphical possibilities of rockbox. But this will take some more time maybe half a year maybe one year thats not sure... Anyway you should always remember that rockbox is open source and depends on the efforts of the devs. So it depends on them, which tasks are worked out and which appear to them to be important. I must say that i think a graphical menu has no top priority thats just a minor investigation but nevertheless it means changing a lot of code. So it's not time for a thing like that.

If you want to read the whole debate, here's the Rockbox forum thread...
http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=6582.0 The initial idea may have had something good in it, but some of the actual proposals where quite ludicrous... some people backing it basically wanted to turn the Rockbox UI into an iPod firmware clone Quote:
