Rockbox is primarily intended to be playlist based for playback. In that context, repeat all being a default makes sense.

auto directory changing on rockbox

I have the same problem. I found that the Auto-Change Directory setting appears to work when I browse with the Show Files setting set to All. However it does not appear to switch directory when I browse with the Show Files setting set to ID3 Database. If anyone has any idea how to get this setting to work with show files set to ID3 Database, please let me know.

When you're using the ID Database, you're not browsing by directory. So how would Rockbox know when to change directory?

Could then something be coded to advance when the end of the album is reached?

There might be options to
a) repeat all, which would go on alphabetically to the next album of the same artist and when this is done, to the next artist
b) repeat album for only repeating the current album
c) maybe repeat artist, which might be quite hard to implement.

Just suggestions, inspired a bit by foobar
