Can you explain a little more clearly what you are wanting to do?

If somebody has done it before, can you provide an example?

do you mean the default rockbox status bar in your WPS or putting custom icons into the rockbox status bar? If you just want to use the default status bar in your WPS add the tag %we to the top of your wps. currently there are only very buggy ways of changing the status bar icons and are not implemented in any of the precompiled builds.

you know the little images that are in the status bar, the lock, the plug, the battery, the dice, etc? i want to get those in my wps, but i don't want the default status bar because i have that same information elsewhere in the wps screen.

hmm. i don't think they are stored as files anywhere but you could take screendumps of the various images by going to debug (keep out) screendump, then plug it into the pc (the player will not connect but save a screenshot of the screen you were on when you pluged in the player you could do this multiple times to get all the images then "cut them out" in paint. or you could try to find a much older build which allowed you to change the icons because that came with a pic of all of the icons, either way you are looking at a lot of cutting out in paint :P
